There are only a few brands I can find in the US right now, anyone if there are going to be any others with cheaper prices anytime soon?

Seeing that they just lifted the century long ban I don't expect the price for true absynthe to come down soon. But hey, if anyone finds it, please share the info. I've been wanting to try it for years.

No way I am going to pay 50-70 bucks a bottle for it. I am guessing in the future when more people start making it and selling it it may come down alittle in price. Who knows how long it will take though.

Can you drink it right out of the bottle or do you need that ice water contraption?

Not going to lie, you shouldn't waste your time.

The US tests Absinthe prior to selling it, and won't allow anything that isn't Thujone free (I think they limit it to <10PPM), which is most of the Absinthe experience. Alberta doesn't even sell real Absinthe, and we are allowed 10 MG/KG.

If it comes down durastically in price, it'll be a good way to get drunk, but it still won't be the real Absinthe experience.

For about 15 to 55 bucks plus cost of the everclear and stuff ya can make your own hah. Wonder if it is any good.

Ugh. You want to do it right, in my opinion. It's a very strong flavor.

The whole thing does sound pretty interesting though. I'd love to give it a try :D And 15 bucks for a home starter kit? Why not ya know?

I've been meaning to import a bottle for a while now...I do want to try it at some point.

Just an FYI, by the time you mix things at about 3 parts water to 1 part absinthe, one bottle will last quite a long time.
