The DIY noise cancelling headphones don't have to spend 10 bucks for the ear protection, can get some cheap ones that work good for 2 bucks. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=43768

I own them and the work good.

Every show they've released this week has been good.

Kudos to rev3.

Nothing here to complain.

Loved it!

So totally entertaining.. Got my fill for the week!

I missed the whole twitter movement. Not sure what the point is..
:(

Loved Neha's segment..

Neha? what was the bag you were wearing on the slopes? I am in the process of getting a mountain bike and I am looking for that same style. I was hoping that you would review it too... Defiantly not a nerd-bird but rather hi-tech gadget-bird :)

Great job ladies!!!! Oh wait, what was the deal with the BOB segment??? Can we get manly man talking about NASCAR for a minute or two? That would be cool big props for at least having a couple of men in the shows...

I am a little sad that Miss Mack wasn't in this episode. My show #3 crush has to go out to Heather I never knew a girl could bend like that!! Good times!

I also liked the segment at the end taking forum and email questions.. Very cool.. You guys just keep getting better and better!!!:D

[Neha? what was the bag you were wearing on the slopes? I am in the process of getting a mountain bike and I am looking for that same style.]

Rene, it looked like a Camelbak water bladder that you wear on your back. They come in 50 ounce, 70 ounce, and 100 ounce styles. The one Neha had on looked like the 50 oz style that is marketed towards women because it's a little smaller and lighter when full.

Was that a Tintin in Tibet PILLOW behind Heather in that picture of her passed out on the couch?! If so, effing awesome and where do I get one?!

Hey Rene,

Glad you liked the snow tech segment--I had a great time doing it! The little backpack I was wearing was a Camelbak, which is a geat way to stay hydrated with outdoor sports. There are 2 varieties; the one with an insulated tube is meant for snow sports, while the one with just a tube without a sleeve is the Camelbak. Strongly suggested, one of the best purchases I have made in regards to snowboarding. You can find it any sports/board shop or more info at: http://www.camelbak.com/index.cfm

I am on a low bandwidth connection, but this happened to me before on rev3. This just my problem?

I think I was a little sleepy when I wrote back last nite!!!

The camelbak with the insulation on the tube is meant for snow sports [so water won't freeze]; If you are a biker, or a summer sport person, get the camelbak w/o the insulated sleeve--they are a bit cheaper!! Hope that helps kiddies, and thank you for the support & questions :)

Just a quick note on Avalanche Beacons,

Being a tech geek, as well as a active guide in the outdoors industry, there are a few things to note about use of beacons. They really don't do much if you don't know how to use them and aren't with others with similar training / equipment. I kindda relate it to the false sense of knowing where you are with a GPS, while not knowing how to read a map.

If back country is where you want to play, take at least an entry level Avalanche course to learn how to use this beacon. Statistically everyone who survives an avalanche was rescued by other members of their party in the back country with training.
Thanks,
Cheers

Loving the new show guys, and an added bonus, a fan of Dr. Kirsten (listen to TwiS every week), so I'm happy to see her part of the show. I am feeling, a bit, like topics are akimbo. As time goes on it makes more sense, but I somehow feel like the show could be a bit more thematic, or maybe just better segues, or whatever. I mean, I get the DIY sense, but sometimes it doesn't seem to all fit together. Maybe more time on practical aspects of Kiki's demonstrations?

If I knew how to fix it, I'd probably have my own network.

Keep up the good work guys, just one aspect that stood out to me.

Jessica, please stop showing us your breasts. I can't concentrate on anything but the forced cleavage that I have not interest in seeing during a podcast. If I want to look at breasts, I go to other places no the internet.

Sara's wear is appropriate I think. Just button a few more buttons please. It's not attractive.

But the show is awesome! Look forward to the future.

Good episode, I don't know if I liked the science segment on magnets. Feels too much like Bill Nye.

Like the hosts, Corbin FTW.

Oh and the production quality is one of the best on Rev3, good job.

Twobit, if you can't concentrate on the show because there's some cleavage on it, it's time to reign in your hormones. It's not like she's wearing pasties and a thong. Her clothing is acceptable even by TV standards.

Jessica, wear whatever you want. I think you look great. This isn't a newscast, so dressing a bit more fancy or provocative (although you still look classy) isn't such a big deal.

What is up with the request for men to be on the show? This is a female dominated show. They can exclude the male gender if they want. The Absinthe interview though had a guy on it. And the if NASCAR was mentioned wouldn't it have to do with the technology used in stock car racing? And if my memory servers me right there are many other podcasts with manly men on them. There is probably one out there on the world wide web were some manly man is talking about NASCAR.

a. Its been a long winter.
b. You must never watch TV. Not late night TV, not cable TV, not "my-mother-is-sleeping-with-my-boyfrien'-and-I-don-know-if-he-is-my-babies-daddy" TV ... just regular old TV. Even a morning show, or daytime talk show.

I say "down with androgyny". Women should look like women, not teenage boys.

While "DIY" is technically an abbreviation, it's a specific type, called an "initialism".

Regarding the ATC2K camera, I'm pretty sure it uses a FAT16 file system, which limits the SD card to the 2 GB size. 2 GB gives me about an hour of recording time at 640 x 480.

What's great about this camera is its durability. This is a video of one of these cameras surviving a 1900 foot free-fall into a field when it disconnected from the body of one of those large-scale model rockets.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdDaMUZndxc

It's also small enough to mount practically anywhere. I have one mounted in the front grill of my car. It could be better with some sort of remote control, so I could switch it on from inside the car, but that's outside its design scope.
