Does anyone know why Kevin and Alex haven't been consistently drinking beer on Diggnation like they used to?

They took January off as a bet but in feb were back to business esp with a live show..just the next show they shot in the morning the day after and this past ep Alex was sick and think Kevin once said if one can't drink neither will for an ep.

Yeah I miss the beer aspect. I dont know if any one else does it but I usually enjoy having beers while watching the episode. Kind of nice to hear about different types of beers which I probably wouldnt have tried if it werent for Alex and Kevin. Bring back BEER!!!

I don't mind it. It must be because I'm a nerd but I've never been a fan of the whole frat thing. Nevertheless, a beer here and there is good.

Since as a personal choice I don't drink I don't care if they don't drink.

Though when they do drink I do pour myself a glass of something I enjoy to go with the ep.

I don't drink but it was interesting to hear their responses to random beers. They don't have to get 'shitfaced.'

I honestly can't remember if they were drinking or not after an episode. Doesn't really change anything for me.

As a drinker, I like to have a beer while I watch Diggnation. Whenever they don't drink, it makes it look like I have a problem.

So... more beer!

Plus they can't drink anymore, now that they're owned by Fox News. ;)

I think it's about time they sobered up. I mean, think of the livers! I think it's great they're sober for every show now. I do miss the cat tho...

Well here's how I see it...

Without beer: A technical sophisticated show about technology.

With beer: A technical sophisticated show about technology that's twelve and a half times funnier.

Sorry, but beer just makes it for me. If they stop drinking I won't like it as much.

I miss the cat also and also would not mind if they sobered up.

They are in their 30's now not some frat college kids anymore.
In a couple years it's going to start looking pretty sad.

Huh? Having an alcoholic beverage when you're over the age of 30 looks sad? What alternative universe do you live in? Yes, the abuse of alcohol is something that goes on in your 20s, but the guys on Diggnation have only once or twice "had one too many" and those were special occasions.

I find it odd how many anti-drinking messages I see on this board. Having a beer or two doesn't make you an alcoholic and not everything they taught you in high school health class is true.

IMO drinking is sad anyway in many definitions(another discussion for another day) but in what the post meant trying to pass off to the average age demographic Diggnation and in when they start hitting 35 and still looking unshaved and drinking like college kids and having these live shows and such trying to appeal to mostly teens and college students you start teetering on the edge of looking like that poor sapp in strip clubs or bars who is alone and 40 still trying to party like he is twenty or so.

Don't try with the high school shit on me....I may be only 25 but been through tons of shit and I know first and second experience hand about drugs & alcohol

Yeah I wish they would drink. I think it kind of makes the show when they drink. Its almost like watching wine library and he isnt drinking wine. In the same sense its not a show about beer but one of the draws to it has been the beer drinking aspect.

I've got to throw in my weight with the drinking team here. I've been watching since episode one and I have always seen the drinking as a part of the show. They talk about the beers and basically make a segment of it and that's a part of the show I miss.

This whole argument about the drinking being wrong or a childish frat thing is weird too. On both sides. I really don't see a problem with having a beer or two with friends, or having a meet up at a bar and having fun. Drinking is technically acting your age after all.

jesus guys can a few of you be a bit more closed minded? damn this one guy thinks drinking beer is sad? do you see how much fun they are having when they are drunk? its just a social thing chill out maybe you need a beer or two. same with the rest of you that are acting like i anti-beer nazis as for beer drinking being related to frat people. wtf? since when is it "fratty" to drink beer? sure beer is at partys and sometimes frat kids are at partys, but saying that beer is onley for frat kids in that sense is almost like saying. "beer is for people that like to go outside once in a wile and have fun." just chill out dude maybe you should also crack open a cold one. as for beer drinking in diggnation, hell yeah guys bring it back more often. you dont have to get hammered but just that buzzed atmosphere is what im missing. my two cents.

This thread went from amusing to ridiculous real quick.

First of all, if you have that big of an issue with drinking you are trolling the wrong forum here.

Secondly, (this coming from someone who also sits at his computer for 8-10 hours a day) God forbid people relax, be social, and drink beer. Because that must just be for college age people!

Bullshit. Don't be so naive. This crap about drinking being a HS or college thing is a lie someone told you and you're buying into it. Now "binge drinking" maybe more of a college phase- but what Kevin and Alex do is far from binge drinking, trust me.

I don't know about you guys, but I'll be drinking until I'm 80. Now I'll give you I'm not longer playing flip cups or beer pong to 3am in the morning anymore- I'm past that stage. BUT, it will be a cold day in hell when I don't enjoy sitting around with some of my best friends, shootin' the shit, and drinking some cold beers to catch a buzz.

Diggnation is a great show regardless of what they are sippin- but it is much funnier when they are at least tipsy :D

It's really getting to me! I said it before and I'll say it again, Trying and reviewing beers every episode was one of my favourite parts of Diggnation. Now if they ever even see a beer it's usually one they already drink.

Come on guys, please bring back the micro breweries, the special imports, and the little known gems of beer. When I watched the guys try rare beers in the gazette this week it really made me miss it.

Bring back the beers!

Notice how Kevin mentioned about how shows after this next one would probably be overrun by 12-year-olds because of the under-21 crowd? Who wants to bet someone tried suing?

Doesn't matter what the target crowd is if others flock to it. Remember how South Park got into all kinds of trouble, parents bitching that their kids would want to see it, despite the target being adults? With th St. Louis show, there was that guy who wasn't 21 who just wouldn't shut the hell up about it. Take a handful of guys like him and I'm sure the guys at Rev3 should get fed up and cave just to shut him the fuck up.

I'm a 27yo female myself.

That means we get liquored up before the show and then punch annoying under-21 peoples in the face. But only the annoying ones. Cool ones can stay.

This is lame!!! I don't want your San Fransicko teas (yes, I love tea, and have been drinking it all my life, not just as a fad. I'm from the south). "Diggnation", Y'all had a great show. What gives?!?!?
You had people buy into your beer club, then stopped drinking. That's border line fraud!!!
Buy this beer, and I'll drink it with you while I do my show.... You need to refund money, or start drinking again.

Aside from common sense, with all the under-21's bitching about not getting to go to shows because they can't wait until they're 21 like the rest of us, I'm not surprised in the slightest that they've cut back. Maybe come summer. But it's not a bad idea to give their bodies a break. Liver damage for the sake of our entertainment isn't worth it.
