The original lyrics (and song for that matter) were done by Bruce Springsteen, and had nothing to do with douches (unless you happen to think Bruce is).

The original lyrics were :

"Cut loose like a deuce"*

Manfred Mann's version bastardized it a bit, but still retained meaning:

"Revved up like a deuce"** - as in deuce coupe (a 50's style hot rod for the younguns).

Interesting...the 'books' in the shelves during the interview kept distracting/irking me (I'll probably get some flack for picking nits) but shouldn't the ones that show the 'top' be on the lower shelves?

The chorus of the song (Springsteen version) features the commonly misunderstood lyric, "Blinded by the light, cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night." ("Deuce" refers to a '32 Ford Deuce Coupe.) Many listeners hear the word "douche" in place of "deuce."[1]

:confused: This fucking GOOD magazine review was such a snoozer. Jessica, I loved you on that show with Hahn Choi, but maybe this one on one interview stuff isn't for you. I wouldn't mind if you did away with that segment entirely.

I agree....I could see one of the supports holding the fake books up, and the whole 3D effect didn't work quite right. Having said that I love the idea, and I think the fronts of the books looked great. Props to the set designer for trying to make something work on the cheap.

I live in New York City and teach middle school kids in the Bronx. My school had an opening day bring your favorite baseball teams t-shirt day. I am from Arizona originally and love the Diamondbacks, but can't find a D-backs shirt to save my life. I decided instead to make a shirt based on your method and it worked out great!!

I don't think Jessica can be blamed. I'm sure GOOD is great, but that annoying hipster with the pocket square had about as much personality as a pad of post-its. Not even the cool accordion ones—they're much more dynamic.
