A lot of people create anime music videos (AMV) for fun, and why not feature a show that focuses on them?
Can be done real easy, like from a bedroom/living room. Simple webcam, and just slap in different videos.
Heck, I can host, or provide the writing content for the show. I got like 100 AMVs alone.
Just a legal problem because you are using licensed music and licensed anime. So that is the one hurdle.

Do you listen to yourself speak? That has to be the worst idea I've ever heard. I personally loath the idea of Anime, and then have it paired with the fruity Japanese music being oozed from the country's cuteness pores lately?
Hell, I might go insane and cut the heads off all the Hello Kitty dolls at Wal*Mart.

Regardless, it's not a very good idea. There is only so much you can do is anime clips and music that was created by someone else ><

I fail to see how just having stuff makes you fully qualified to work on a show about them.

umm, if your serious about it... then it seems that you could do it without Rev3's help. As you said, simple web cam and you have the AMVs, just do it. The legal problem isn't a problem as long as you don't sell your show. It's because AMVs and most fan made stuff is covered under the same stuff for parodies and creative license, the main reason sketch comedy shows like SNL or Mad TV don't have to connect everyone they are making fun of...
To some of the people that said they don't like Anime or the "fruity Japanese music" It's one thing to say you don't like Anime... but don't comment on something you obviously know nothing about. The only thing that has Japanese music tends to be the intros/outros of anime. AMV tend to be American pop/rock songs, since almost all of them are made by Americans.

Yeah, AMV's is not something Revision needs. So Far most of their productions please me. But the key word here is most....(im looking at you Ctrl-Alt-Chicken)
But like Ningin said. YouTube could totally use more AMV's
Go on YouTube.

The last thing we need are a bunch of videos made by middle school girls made in Windows movie editor set to Ashley Simpson.

I think this is a pretty decent idea. Only problem I have with this one is the fact that alot of anime music videos suck. You should get in contact with some of the top editors at animemusicvideos.org if you really want to go anywhere with this one. I made a couple anime music videos myself, and now that I look back I realise that most of them sucked. I, just recently, got better at video editing and I wish I knew what I know now when I was making anime music videos.
The good thing about anime music videos are that alot of people who think they might not like animes will become interested just by watching a video or 2 as long as the video is done well. At least thats how I became interested. I ask that anyone who bash anime to watch Beserk or Gungrave.

At the Anime convention I usually go to, Anime Central, they have an AMV Iron Chef competition where two Adobe Premiere geeks with huge collections of source video at their command have to make an AMV that contains a "secret ingredient", revealed to them as in the show, in just a few hours. Given the constraints, some of the finished products have been incredible.
This all said, I don't think Revision3 would have any legal right to air such a show. AMV's only have Fair Use to stand on, and those claims are wobbly outside of personal NFP type use stuff, and just in general. And then, I think you could get into trouble on trying to attach a creative commons or any type of copyright claim on the work, and all that jazz.
Revision3 as a for profit entity would not be able to use even small clips or any background music like that without massive legal hurdles unless it was clear parody etc. Basically, if an AMV show is legally possible like this without paying massive royalties, It would be a legal nightmare to set up. And they'd probably have to license the music no matter what, and then you get into the content owners refusing license unless you use DRM and that whole can of worms...

At even the suggestion of such a show I've gone both blind and deaf! I hope you are happy!

worst. idea. ever.
AMV's suck. They suck hard. They suck balls.
Doesn't it make you want to start denying people the right to communicate with others in any way every time some teenage Berserk/Bleach/DragonBall fan cracks open Window Movie Maker and acts like he's ****ing Scorcese, throwing some Drowning Pool over the top of it.
It's a ****ing sacrilege to both the original anime, and to the musicians who tried to make some serious music, but had it paired against 14,000 ****ing kamehameha's.
AMV's. Suck. Case closed.

1. Thats what trailers are for.
2. It's Berserk.
3. Gungrave is throroughly uninteresting.
4. AMV's still suck.
