Do you enjoy the show more if you have seen, played, or read the material that the guys are reviewing? I'm wandering if it would be better to have first hand knowledge of a subject so you can agree or disagree, or wait for the review to see if it's worth checking out. Anyone have experience with this?
I'm a huge fan a movies and like to see one every Sunday night and I find I have the exact same taste as Dan so I usually wait to hear his opinion before I check it out. But this weekend I ended up seeing 21 and enjoyed the review even more because I could relate to what all the guys were saying.
Also, has there been any talk of an LA based TRS Movie Club to see the selected film for each week?

Personally, I think I like it better with content I've already experienced just to avoid spoilers, and be able to actively agree or disagree with the guys. I think it's more fun that way.
Either way, still a great show ;)

Either way is fine by me. I've learned of a bunch of cool movies, shows, etc from the guys. :)

I normally don't have access to see some of the movies that they were really excited about (No country, There will be blood...) but have since seen them. To me I don't have to know the material to enjoy the show. The three of them talking about things they like remind me of my friends talking about the same topics and that is what I enjoy. I think one thing you might run into is that if you've seen the movie or show the guys are talking about and you loved it and they hated it you would enjoy the show less. Spoilers I don't think you have to worry about since they don't really spill them anymore.

I agree with Deegraww. I also don't have the opportunity to watch and play as many things as they do. So I basically live through them :)

I like it either way. When I have first hand knowledge of the subject they are reviewing I can agree or disagree and know a little more about what their talking about. When they are reviewing something I haven't any knowledge of they normally give me enough info and opinion to either get me interested or let me know I can skip it.
I also watch Zero Punctuation and if I have played the game he's talking about I enjoy that much more because I feel like I get all of the little points he talks about.

It's good either way...though there is something to be said about knowing more about what they're talking about. (I've been known to go back and watch an episode after seeing/reading what they referenced/reviewed just for that purpose.)

I have had the chance to play/see a few of the things they've reviewed, and I like being able to see what their reactions to them are. Some of the movies they review, I won't have an interest in, and will end up going to see it because of the review I get from the show. Same goes for games and TV. I have to say TRS was one of the reasons I started watching Lost.
I guess I have to agree with everyone, going with the "either way" theory. Good points to both sides

Yup, either way is good. Each way adds a different element of interest to the show. I think I really clicked with the show when I watched segments reviewing things I've already had an experience with. It's hilarious watching them discuss something that you feel the same way about.
However, now that I have a better idea of their opinions, and trust their opinions, I have certainly made an effort to see/read things I never would have before.

I hang out the front of theatres in L.A. and when I see the guys, I sneak in, and sit 3 rows behind them dressed as a hooker. Dan talks on the phone alot, mostly saying, "I'm in a movie, call me back later when I'm doing the show"., Alex drifts off until he sees special affects, Jeff whispers recommendations to other theatre patrons, something about 'your mom', and 'the greatest show ever'... hopefully those things are unrelated. After the movie, I try to follow them but they go in different directions, Dan goes looking for Hostess Fruitpies, Alex goes wandering for pants, and I normally have to tell Jeff, "I'm too expensive for you big boy, get out of my alley".

LOL...
Is that response because there is truth to his statements Dan?
:p
I think the guys are going to start watching their backs now.

Definitely content I've already experienced. I enjoy to see other people's takes on media I've already delved in to.
