You'll need this:
http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Band-Bass-Pedal-Repair/dp/B00133ELQM/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_text_b

and 4 of these:
http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisplay?&langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&productId=87870

That pedal mod is fantastic! If you ever plan on playing hard/expert drums, you're going to need it less your pedal will snap in half. It will snap in half. LISTEN TO ME!! I'm serious. All you need to know is how to read, follow basic directions, and handle a phillips screwdriver.

The mouse pads are for the noise dampening. The *click clack* of drumming on the Rock Band drums can get very annoying. As you get faster and play harder difficulties, it gets in the way of actually hearing the music. These mouse pads are perfect for solving that problem. You'll need to trim them down a tad bit to fit on the drum heads, but it's a very easy mod. Exacto knife, carpet tape to tape em on, and... that's it! It cuts the noise in half and doesn't hinder the sensitivity at all. Oh be sure to tape em on "Staples" graphic side down unless you want people to think you're sponsored by them.

These mods improved my drumming and made my set cooler than anything in the universe. Anything.

I keep meaning to mod my drum kit. My wife has been playing on hard and I keep waiting for the pedal to snap.

Thanks for the reminder...

Oh, AWESOME idea about the mousepads! My husband has been playing drums in our "band" and we're not past Medium yet, but already he's been looking for a way to dampen the sound. I only wish there was a Staples in Missouri - but I guess I can order them online. And you can't beat $3 a piece! :) THANKS!!!

My god those are ugly haha. But rubber tipped drum sticks work very well for sound issues.

Our bass pedal just snapped and we ordered a repair kit from Amazon for 19.99. I think the difference is that ours is missing the heel piece. My boyfriend put it on in just a couple of minutes and it works awesome, just like new. A much better fix than buying a whole new drum kit.

Those aren't bad, but I still think the Staples mouse pads would offer superior noise reduction since they're more of a condensed rubber vs a cloth. Plus they're a lot cheaper :D. If you cut them just right they look really cool with the black on the drums vs the gray coloring by default.

Well, over the weekend hubby and I attempted to get some foam pads for the drums - we bought some really thin craft foam to put on the pads. It was less than successful. :( We didn't quite realize just how pummeled the foam would get, the middle of each pad is beaten all to hell, and the edges have started to curl up as a result. So looks like we'll be trying the mousepad idea next :)

Ebay has the metal pedal plates for cheaper, but yeah, I need to get that mod done as well. I've started to dabble in Hard drums (I can't make my arms and legs do that!!) and I can really feel the bend starting to happen.
