Spoilers, obviously.

So, down here in Australia we just got The Lost Room on the Showcase pay tv channel. I remembered thinking the concept sounded cool when I read about it a few years ago, and so I recorded the series. Anyway, last night I just finished watching it and really liked it. My Dad didn't get into it, but it was right up my alley. The whole concept of it being pieces of a god was awesome, and I loved finding out all the powers (and breaking into the vault/tomb was kickass). That being said:

- stock standard final cut door open etc. noises really bugged me
- it never explained what exactly happened to remove the room in the first place, but I suppose it might have been trying to frame itself as a character piece with a sci-fi twist.
- the romance with Jennifer was completely arbitrary, was only shallowly explored, and seemed like it was only included because they felt like you needed it included.

The ending, with Martin as the prophet, Kreutzfeld entering the room and Joe becoming an object, really seemed to be crying out for a full series or a sequel miniseries. So, what did you think of the show and is there any news about a follow-up?

I miss The Lost Room, it was so awesome. I really wish they'd turn it into a series, or a video game, or somethin.

It could actually make a pretty decent videogame, if you think about it.

Funny you say that. When I first clicked on this topic, I thought it was a comment about Silent Hill 4: The Room.

I don't think I've actually checked The Lost Room. I will have to do so now.

Definitely a pretty cool idea, and executed well enough. I definitely enjoyed it, even if it hasn't stuck with me enough to remember it really.

Yeah I saw it a while ago. It was a pretty cool idea and it was pretty good but nothing fantastic.

I have them all, but haven't watched them yet. It looked cool though, and I definitely plan to get around to them.

I really liked the mini-series. I thought the premise was very unusual and interesting, and the execution was good. It was supposedly a backdoor pilot for a potential series, which is why not everything is resolved perfectly at the end, but the ratings on the Sci-Fi Channel weren't good enough, so no series, unfortunately.
