Comic-Con Help!

Hey everyone. Me and a friend of mine (both relatively poor college students) are trying to make it out to Comic-Con this year. We're fine for plane tickets, but we're searching for a place to stay. Any suggestions? I've been looking around for decently priced hotels, but my parents don't want to spend all that much. We're also looking at hostels, but most seem booked up. Any suggestions? Greatly appreciated.

Find something like a hostel, bed and breakfast, or a person renting a room (perhaps willing to share a hotel room) because you aren't going to get a hotel if you don't want to spend.

Yeah i have been looking into going for awhile and the longer i wait the higher the prices have gotten, a few places for the week are over 2k....
