I dunno if anyone is set up on this site or anything, but basically Fantasy Moguls is like Fantasy Baseball, but with movie box office.
You have a limited amount of money to pick 8 movies and you are scored based on their box office returns.
If anyone is interested in joining, I set up a "league" called iFanboy, which you should be able to search for after signing up.
www.FantasyMoguls.com (and no I don't work for them, it just sounded like fun.)
Look forward to it!

Wasn't there another site like this?
I'll mess around on here later tonight. Thanks for the heads up, Hudson.

Some of you guys are silly with your money.
Projected ranks so far:
9. Angela's ACBG Studios (577M)
8. Horatio's Horatio Pictures Intl. (597.5M)
7. Pol's Fuzzy Typewriter Studios (602M)
6. Xebix's MSA Productions (603.5M)
5. Blair's Kahuna Studios (619.5M)
4. Cenquist's Enquist Cafe Studios (631M)
3. Hudson's Strongsville Studios (669.5M)
2. Fred's Fred Studios (674.5M)
1. Eso's iFanatomy Studios (714M)
Thought I would post these along the way. I'm incredibly interested to see how close to projected totals the real totals are. I can see a few movies that I expect to beat/not meet the projected totals.

I basically banked on the three blockbusters (figuring that two of the three will out perform expectations), one potential sleeper hit (there didn't seem to be that many on the board), and one for the huge tween girl market. I didn't pay as much attention to projections, because some of them seemed abnormally low and some too high. Wanted, Get Smart, and Speed Racer will be the disappointments. I went all blockbusters because I just didn't see a lot of sleepers on the list.

Oh! I just realized I won the iFanboy March Madness bracket. I should win something. Like an original Fred sketch.

Yeah, the projections are way off. I see myself as a long-shot to win this. Speed Racer definitely won't do as good as they think. Not even sure Iron Man will. I'm basically banking on a lot of smaller movies to do really well, and one blockbuster.

The surest bet would be to go with Wall-E, Chronicles of Narnia, and Kung Fu Panda.
Those are the only 3 kids movies, and that means Cha Ching. Plus, from the feedback I've heard on Kung Fu Panda, that thing is going to kill at the Box Offices.
I personally went with a more personal route with my choices. I went with a few sure fire hits, and then sprinkled in some good buzz lower tier movies. Here's hoping they get some Little Miss Sunshine action!

Yeah, I joined another league, where you have to spend at least $95 and try and get the lowest score. Kungfu Panda was my blockbuster pick to get my spending up there, until I realized I was an idiot. That's going to kill.

I picked Wal-E because it was cheaper and I don't trust Jack Black at the box office. I'm sure it will kill, but thought Wal-E would do nearly as well.

Jack Black won't be the draw. He's just another lead in a Dreamworks film. They throw so many "stars" into there movies, you'll be hard pressed to not find one person you like. It's worked for Shrek and Madagascar.
Look at this cast...
Jack Black as Po - Giant Panda
Jackie Chan as Master Monkey - Monkey
Dustin Hoffman as Shifu - Red Panda
Angelina Jolie as Master Tigress - South China Tiger
Lucy Liu as Master Viper - Viper
Ian McShane as Tai Lung - Snow Leopard
David Cross as Master Crane - Japanese Crane
Seth Rogen as Master Mantis - Praying Mantis
Michael Clarke Duncan as Commander Vachir - Javan Rhino
I have a feeling it will make more then Over the Hedge which was a 335 million dollar flick. We shall see though.

Has anyone checked this lately? Our roster got huge. I'm guessing the winner isn't actually going to be from this forums. Baha.

Wow, it did shoot up alot. Maybe next time we should do a private league so we can get more trash talking in these forums!

Yeah, we'll make it private in the next season.
I left it open with this one to make it easy for everyone to join... not thinking that lots of others would join a league called iFanboy as well...
Who knows... maybe one of us will come out on top.

Hey guys, a new season started over at fantasymoguls.com for May-July.
This time around I created a private league, so it should make things a little more fun, since it will be just us.
I've also chosen to play the league in the Ultimate Moguls game, which takes into consideration per-screen average and reviews, in addition to overall box office.
The league is called Ultimate iFanboy. If you've already signed up, you will need to create a new studio for the May-July Ultimate Moguls season (it can be the same name you've used before). Then just do a search under "private" leagues for iFanboy and it will come up.
You will need a password to sign up... the PW is "gordon". No quotes, of course.
See you guys over there!

Referencing earlier posts... is there an iFanboy fantasy football league? I need in on that, especially if its a dynasty league. :)
