Anyone else notice how in Scam School's (which by the way is really awesome) opening and closing theme the voice saying "scam school" sounds like he's saying "ska-m school", with a very weird sounding "ca" combination. Anyway, I find it incredibly annoying because it sounds like the person's making up a new word, not saying "scam".

I think it would be great if you all over there at Rev3 could redo that part of the theme song. It would perfect it (and make it not annoying).

I think we should all get together and rid of all people who say po-tah-do instead of po-tay-do. They are obviously making up words and should have been correctly taught in elementary school.

Just so you know, they're saying scam the sme way original British punk groups would have said it. It's said with a Cockney accent, so it sound odd to U.S. ears.

That being said, if the biggest complaint you have about the show is the theme song, then all is well. HAHA

hey jayred,

i wrote and sang the music to scam school.

i assure you i didn't add an extra syllable to "scam"

considering the tempo of the song is really fast as is i don't know how the hell i'd fit it in anyway :)

for those that are interested: the influence for that piece was the ramones.

It definatly reminded me of english punk from 'round 82... Props to Mr. Scaduto. I don't care if there is an extra sylable... I'd like to say congrats to Lawrence for the good composition. Very true to the genre. Keep up the good work.

May I ask what your studio consists of? I'm guessing you have a home studio?

Got any pics? :)

it's a pretty big room (for new york city standards) filled with instruments of all kinds. some are respectable, some are complete crap but all are useful if at least for one thing.

there's lots of guitars, a theremin, a handful of keyboards including some classic casios (sk-1 included), a record player with couple hundred records that were mostly found on the streets of brooklyn. There are drum pads, a small amount of mid-level rack gear that sits unused. And drawers upon drawers of cables, connectors and power supplies.

there's also a soldering station and most importantly enough supplies to build effects pedals for a small army including a toaster oven used to quickly dry spray painted enclosures.

there's a rack including two PCs of which my drummer thinks is hilarious. apparently rack mounted PCs are worth laughing at.

there's a decent reading collection of engineering/creativity/comedy related books/magazines for inspiration.

the pedal collection has grown over 25-30 deep and is fun to stare at. if only my guitar amp collection was as big... then i'd feel complete. until i decide i need more microphones.

on our 4-story building i'm considering setting up a drum set on the roof or at least a loud ass speaker/amp combo for when i need super huge reverb sounds bouncing from the neighboring buildings. i dream of that day when that is a possibility that i could create sounds so loud as to block out the brooklyn-queens expressway 300 yards from my window.

as of now if i need foley of drunk hipsters my window/fire escape (or balcony;) provides ample recording opportunities almost any weekend evening. and this is a great thing.

So it seems as if every show I watch on Revision 3 has Lawrence's music in it. And that seems like a pretty big studio for this to be your first gig. What else have you worked on?

Props on the theramin... I want one.

if you want to see more of my work head to fourthgradegladiators.com

and yes theremins are awesome awesomeness even if super hard to keep in key/pitch.

I like the theme song...admittedly I like the graphic work for the intro more but the theme song is not bad at all and love the Ramones throwback

The start of the theme song reminds me of another theme song. I live in britain im not sure if its something ive seen online or on tv but its doing my head in lol. Anybody got any idea what the first few seconds of the theme songs may sound a little like?

I just know the song sticks in my head for hours after i watch an episode. Not in a bad way tho, i'll walk downstairs to grab a soda singing it. :-D

OK, this sounds dumb, but here goes.

What are the lyrics to the Scam School song (hahaha)?

Seriously, is it "Scan School, oh yah?"
And if so, why use a Cockney accent with a Midwestern slang?

"Hon, hon its dayed." - Fargo

Ramones? Sounds like a rip off of the undertones songs first day of summer. the undertones were inspired by the ramones so yeah. its still a great song. dont here that kind of good music on the radio anymore.
