I don't think they were filmed too long ago. I'd say Feb - now maybe esque?....brian?

W00t! The return of shit-bird Joey...kinda.

It was nice to see Mr. Rabier make another appearance on a Rev 3 show. I wonder if he's friends with Brian, or if this was simply a lucky coincidence.

My bad. When I loaded the forum page for Scam School, I didn't see this thread. Stupid Safari and its caching.

Anyways, good episode. That guy is such a jackass.

Joey in his triumphant return!!!

Funny video. Though I sort of felt like he knew it wasn't on there. Simply because of the fact that after the 8th or 9th time, I would have given up and tried to take it off. But he just kept going (for comedic effect?) Still, good episode...

Hey Brian, I have a question. Your book has 57 ways to scam for drinks in a bar. Does that mean that there will only be 57 episodes of your show or do you have other stuff up your sleave. I hope to see alot more from you in the future.

I actually thought the same thing. In fact, when he figures out that there's no quarter, you can see that I'm genuinely surprised he didn't already know. He later says that he just thought it was like superglued to his forehead, which would explain why he would even go through the motions of continuing to try.

We've got a pretty big list of show ideas (more than 57 for sure), but we're hoping to get a lot of ideas from the audience (many of the best scams and tricks aren't even written up in the books yet). We've already gotten a couple of gems!

I'm a painter and watched the video on my cell during a break. I came back in and had a co-worker to try the trick on. I didnt have a table so I had to use a 5-gallon bucket. I did it and it didnt fall of and then I told him to try and he banged his head like 8 times on a bucket. It was fucking hilarious.

HAHAAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

EPIC!

Here's a tip: warm up the quarter before you do it. If it's cold, they might be able to tell the temperature difference, even though they think they're feeling pressure.

Oh, man. that's great.

I must give you props Brian. I really like how you have taken the forums as a place to communicate with the fans. I've seen Martin do it a little bit, but You have been posting left and right since your launch. I'm sure that's because the show is new and all, but I think it is awesome of you to take the time to actually read what we have to say. I wish all my other favorite stars would post more. But time is a luxury that's hard to come by. Anyways, thanks for taking time out of your day to reading our posts.

I'm glad you appreciate it. It certainly helps that I'm not on tour this week, but trust me, there's always plenty of downtime at the airports. I plan to stay good about keeping in touch with you guys as long as I can.

Great new show Brian.

I'm a fan of the UK (and they have a US version too now) The Real Hustle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Real_Hustle). Which I'm guessing your familiar with. They do lots of prop bets.

One question, you managed to keep the coin on your head for the demo quite well, I'm guessing you where not hitting with much force.

shwooddotcom
04-14-2008, 03:37 PM
If you moisten the coin, it should stick on there pretty well for your demo. Make sure that you're banging your head perfectly sideways onto the table for the first to whacks, then tilt your head more downward when you want the coin to fall off. As long as all the force is going sideways, the coin shouldn't fall off too easily.

Earlier someone pointed out how great it is that you come on here and respond to us unlike most (not complaining about the rest, I know their busy) but I was coming onto this thread to ask a question of what the technique of getting the coin to stay on and theres the answer right there...Not only is the show awesome your involvement in the community around the show makes the show so much better. :)

The same thing was in old british sitcom called red dwarf (actually patrick recommended it in systm). Except there they banged the back of their head with their hands.

My girlfriend coincidently walked into the room after I finished watching this episode. I told her I just learned a new trick on the web to get free drinks at the bar. She was ecstatic not knowing that the source was scam school since she doesn't watch the show. Anxious to find my first victim and get some practice, I told her to sit down and I would show her quick. Without hesitation, she sat down and I pressed it to her forehead and removed it without her knowing. I already explained the background so she just starting pounding away. She began getting frustrated to I told her to try and hit it a little harder, and after about 20 pounds she gave up and reached up for the quarter. The look on her face was priceless as she looked up and saw the quarter in my hand! I laughed hysterically and after a couple hours and a punch to my shoulder, she got over it and decided it was a good trick. Thank you so much for this trick, it was so fun to pull one over on my gf. No free drink but this was worth so so sooo much more!

I got caught.

I am in Denmark for the semester and apparently someone has heard of this trick and called me out after they knew I had the coin in my hand, so i bought them a beer. Earlier in the night, I tried it and it worked to perfection. That is fine. The good part about the failure is that I told them about Scam School and they said they would buy me a drink next time. I think i cut my losses very nicely thanks to Scam School.

Thanks,

I've had a lot of fun doing this to a couple of my friends, but I need to work on the setup. I usually say something like "I bet you can't get it off in 5 hits" which is good because it makes them try pretty hard for those five, but then it's almost impossible to keep it going.
How do you guys set it up so they just keep going?

I just watched the episode again. The delivery on the "but, uh... sorry" is classic.

I'd try to keep the focus not on "can you do it in 5 hits," but rather "I can do it in five hits... how many can you do it in? Oh, and hell: if you beat me, I'll buy your drinks all night."

Ideally, you'll find someone prideful who's got something to prove... those kind of guys refuse to quit (and'll be all but knocked out cold!).

I read the show notes and the entire discussion, answered questions I had, but I figured I'd share.

Q. How do I "stick it"?
A: By holding the edges with the nails of your thumb and middle finger, pressing with the index while pushing into their forehead.

Q: What about the coin temperature?
A: Warm up by holding in your hand or adhering to head for stickage to occur.

Q: Can I do this on girls?
A: Yes! I'll just use the head slapping method.

yeah I did this to a friend of mine and he went for over about 40 hits to the head before he gave up.

I think that I might of gave me a huge headache because he didn't turn up to any of the classes after this little stunt.

Still, it was too damn funny not to laugh at.

Bloody hilarious!!!!!!!
