For question 1, it might be a bug during the install. I would suggest to re-install it.
As for question #2, you see the blue band that says "25 Items in this Channel", click on the arrow (just left of the text) and you will not see the list of shows available. The ones you have downloaded will be only in green. All the blue ones will be hidden

okay that works......i was hoping not to have them there but if hiding them is all i can do then thats cool as well

Delete that stupid podcatcher, and download Juice (http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/). Be happy.

A bit ironic to hear "be happy" from you after a comment like that...

Well that was an helpful social commentary. I don't have anything against Juice, but lets look at the facts. It's just a podcatcher (period). Nothing more, nothing less and it does what it has to do (dowloads files from an RSS feed into a folder you want).
Now when it comes to that system tray icon, I am currently using the regular Miro player (been using it before Revision3 released their own edition) and haven't experienced a similar bug with it. I'm using Vista too so I don't think it's the specific problem... If someone else has the problem we could be able to pin-point it better.
