Would it be possible to change the way you encode/save files so that PS3 users can download the files through the web browser and then watch on the PS3 without any faffing around?

Hope something can be worked out as at the moment I spend a good few minutes + sorting them all out when I could be watching it.

I watch all the Rev3 shows on my Ps3 in the Quicktime large. Just download them to a Flash drive in the quicktime large, or WMV codec. I think that there are other encodes, but those are the two that I know for sure work. No you can't get HD now, but there is talk that Rev3 might be switching from Quicktime HD to WMV HD which will play on the PS3. Hopfully that is true.

The problem as far as I know is that they use the .mov extension, can they not use .m4v like the other Quicktime formats?

This has been discussed trillions of times (ok, maybe not that many :)). E.g. here: http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15922

And I feel your "pain" but you can use the free tool MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com/) to convert the video from mov to mp4. And don't worry it's not a real decoding/encoding process, that can take hours. It will max take a couple of mins.

It's done by selecting File>Save as..., and then choosing mp4 as the filetype.

Not only is that thread talking about it, it was started by a Rev3 employee wanting to get an idea of what everyone would NEED (not necessarily want). And he wants to make the HD videos compliant with PS3 and XBox 360... so this new thread is useless, and just points at the fact that it seems Rev3 appears to be slow going. I believe we are still waiting on the "custom RSS feeds" that Jim promised in like Nov/Dec that they would be here in Jan... yet it's April.

I assumed that change was because of everyone complaining about the daily stuff being intermixed with the weekly. If I'm remembering it correctly (I'll try to find the post later), Jim made it sound like we were going to be able to create 1 feed for any combination of any of the shows we wanted.

That's the impression I got...particularly since the reasoning for them not splitting the dailies and weeklies was because the a la carte feed was in the words.

I'm still curious why, when the other two quicktime feeds aren't using MOV, they decided to use it for the HD versions.

Thats what I have been doing. However the PS3's decoder is not great with Rev3's QT files for some reason, so they end up looking very blocky with even a little motion on screen.
