Watching on iphone and apple tv without two feeds?

Is it possible to either watch an HD feed on apple tv and iphone or "link" two resolution versions so that if I'm in the middle of watching a podcast at home on my ATV and then have to leave I can sync real quick and watch the rest of the show on my iphone?

This is so frustrating to have to subscribe to both and then label one watched, and if I don't watch one for a while it stops downloading episodes....does anyone else have this problem? I searched for a bit for iphone and apple tv but not many answers on what I'm lookinf for.

It doesn't seem to be possible using Apple dev'd tools only. Itunes won't up/down convert your file to optimize for each device and I'm pretty sure whatever they use to tag the file marking the spot you stopped watching doesn't translate between devices.

I also couldn't find any 3rd party apps that could do this.

I'm thinking what you're already doing - downloading two copies of the show (one optimized for ATV and one that looks ok on the IPhone) is the only real option right now.

Wonder if there's a real demand for this? I mean, surely there are other people out there with an ATV and an IPhone.
