Don't put out money on something like that unless this is something you are going to take really seriously as in, investing money because you plan on making it back, or if you want to invest money without making it back, up to you.
Why can't you film in your house? I mean look at the Tekzilla set, you just need a wall. Is there no room that you can use, or part of a room?
A garage would be perfect, if you have one. Also, I think in the house would be perfect. You should just find a place where's there's a blank wall, a table and a couch and BOOM you've got a set and a show.

this would be something i would be taking very seriously its a plan ive slowly been developing for the past few years. the reason i cant film in my house is because of my living situation, too small first of all its actually an apartment, and my schedual just doesnt fit right with my room mate to film, he works nights and would be asleep when i would be filming; dont wanna wake up my friend you know?

a bunch of my artist friends rent little studios in re-fabbed warehouses pretty cheap. thing about that is you can set up your set up and just leave it there. But get a good lock and take the camera/computer with you when you leave. and you can use the place for other projects, or just to escape to when you roomate is being bothersome or getting lucky.

stravinsky (the composer) used to rent a room for him to work in (so his family life did not distract him)
you need a place that is all about work
you'll work better

and a tax break if you use it for income. I should do that for freelance work, seeing there is no way my tiny house could be configured the way needed for home office tax breaks.

Panorama City to Sun Valley to Westlake Village are full of store-front, factory-warehouse type deals.
