Okay, since we have a bunch of youngun's here, defined as too old to legally party with Diggnation & Co., how do you plan to spend your 21st birthdays? If you've 21 or over, how did you spend it?
I think I win for the worst-ever 21st birthday. Two days before I was rushed into emergency intestinal surgery (I already lacked a large intestine, so not a small ordeal), and then the morning of my 21st, I was back in the ER. And then couldn't eat or drink for the next week, stuck on IV feeding. Didn't even get a damned cake because I wasn't allowed to eat it, but I did have a PC pump to give myself Demerol every 15 minutes. My 31st birthday will be my "21st birthday" and should be better because I'll have more money to do cool stuff than on my real 21st. I'm still bitter that I spent my 21st birthday being cut open, though console myself by trying to find someone who had one worse so that it's like a game.

I spent mine pregnant. Woohoo! No alcohol for me! I can't even remember what I did for my 21st. C'est la vie.

personally for my 21st birthday ( 58 days and counting *cough* june 11)
If it were even possible i'd just want to kick it with Kevin Rose, that guy is like my Idol. Geeking it out and doing what he loves.

Will have mine in June, and I'm probably not going to plan anything.
I don't drink and I had my "Woo, I can legally drink!" birthday at 18, so I'm probably not going to do anything spectacular, which might show a lack of imagination, I guess. If it turns out like I want it to I'll get together with family for a day just for chilling out, and get together with friends some other day just for chilling out.

I spent my 21st birthday splitting 2-cases of Genesee Cream Ale with a few of my closest friends. Of course, my 21st was no big deal. In 1986, when I turned 18, that was the legal drinking age.
Which means that all of the "Diggnation" fans that feel excluded by the over-21 rules weren't even born when I became legal.

We had a BBQ at home. My father had had a heart attack two weeks earlier, and I had planned to just go down to the pub with some mates. My mother decided to do the BBQ at home though as a surprise. Still a pretty quiet night, but it was spent with good friends, copious amounts of beer, and my family.

masherscf, I have you beat. I was legal in '79... UGH!!! On my 18th birthday I didn't anything special, probably some homework, freshman in college at the time.
BTW, I lived in a time and had parents who understood that if you said "NO!!!" to kids, the kids would try to find out why the parents kept saying no, so my parents let us drink small amounts at home. The parents plan worked, my siblings and I never abused alcohol because at a young age we learned that you puke if you over do it. I may drink four beers a summer and I have a bottle of Scotch that is pushing three years old. (Still 1/4 full.)
Genesee Cream Ale
UGH, bad stuff.

My last birthday, my 27th, was by far the best birthday I ever had. Was spent alone with Cody down south. Went to a natural history museum, a beautiful dinner, candle-light dancing...made me cry from happiness for the first time in my life. I didn't think that was possible.

Man I don't even remember my 21st birthday, not because I was too drunk, it just seems like so long ago. I'm turning 29 on the 25th of april.
I WAS planning on having a bit bash, unfortunately my flight to sfo is at like 8:00 AM on the 26th so my bday gift will be seeing diggnation live on the 30th :)
The drinking age here is 18 as well so I guess it isn't as big of a deal. I had already been getting into clubs at 17

Since I don't drink and not big on birthdays I just had a relaxing day like most and maybe a special dinner.
Only this year for my 25th I went a bit more extreme bought some dinner and spent b day money from family on some Wii games and a couple new shirts.

Well I am going to assume this would be the same as us Australians turning 18... since that is when we legally drunk.
Went to the pub and hit the clubs. Good times.

ohh no, the 18th is usually a big one (I'm Australian too), but the 21st is also almost a rite of passage.
Most of my mates got rediculously drunk for their 21st's - I didn't. I spent mine with my family on the night, workmates night before and then work-friends that weekend.
18th was a no-go just as well, I'm not a huge drinker and I'm not a huge club-goer, so anything I do is usually subdued (which also makes it rediculously hard to make new 'acquaintances' but I can't see the point in make myself look like an arse.)

Eighteen is the drinking age in Alberta. It was fairly quiet. Some family happened to be down for other reasons, so me, some cousins, and my parents, went to see some comedians then me and the cousins continued on barhopping afterwards. The day after I went out to a friends house. We were going to go to the bar, but no one felt like it (I'm not much of a bar guy) so we stayed and drank there, played some video games, watched some movies. Overall, it was a fairly quiet, enjoyable, two days.

I dont drink so i dont really plan to do anything come Dec.
But I do kinda want to do somethng, none of my birthdays have ever been like whoa cool or anything, lotta times my friends have been out of town and stuff since its during the holidays.
Spent plenty of birthdays alone, So Who knows maybe i will go some place with a friend or two and buy them a drink.
Still a few months away.
