Insane individual (http://yaledailynews.com/storymin.html)

Pro-life or pro-choice, it's hard to find ANY valid reason for this girl to have artificially inseminated herself repeatedly over nine months for the sole purpose of inducing miscarriages to film and call it "art." She also collected blood from it to display.

This was on Digg. Someone posted a link about this being a hoax.

Being on Yale's page, I'm doubtful that it was a hoax. And even if she did, it's fucking sick.

It was a "performance art piece (http://www.nysun.com/news/national/yale-students-art-project-creative-fiction)", and a work of complete fiction.

I don't know about anyone else, but "creative fiction" sounds a lot like "making shit up to get attention" to me.

I don't know if I'm more relieved that it wasn't true, or disheartened by the fact that some one thought even making up a story like this was acceptable.

..apparently, this girl just can't learn to paint like the rest of her artist buddies.

Picasso went through his blue period.

It appears that this chick went through her ... never mind. Thats too gross for an art exhibit.

well it wasn't a hoax but it wasn't real either. it was art. it was art that was misreported but an over anxious media looking for the next big shocker.

now that said i don't really care. it's just cells. other than the stress put on her body no harm no fowl.

yeah i know it sounds mean and awful and yada yada yada but to me it really isn't a big deal.

*EDIT*

oh yeah why have the two post calling for this woman's death not been removed?

Don't you enjoy the irony? Outrage of a woman who originally claims to have manipulated life and used repeated abortion as an art is met by.. people wanting her to be killed.... yeah...

Aren't we humans great?

I'd call you colorblind, but black isn't a color. It's a grey forum to me. :P

you know i don't find the idea of calling for people's death cute. i've seen it first hand and it is ugly and if you truly followed the precepts of your religion you would be ashame of yourself.

As a moderator, I'd like to respond to CinC's concerns. To my knowledge, there have been no formal complaints about this thread other than those voiced here-in.

I could shut the thread down. But, I don't like to over-moderate members that are not engaged in an openly abusive discourse toward each other. The thread title and OP does contain a touch of hyperbole that some some may find offensive. However, it's hard to delete a thread on that basis when it does not not openly break the rules of conduct and without a formal complaint.

Nevertheless, members are encouraged to exercise self moderation at all times and should take these feelings into account when posting in the future.

Indeed, I feel that the artist in question meant to provoke such strong feelings as part of her piece. Yes, this artist is just a sophisticated troll.

i'm not for deleting the thread. i do think the name of the thread should be change. it breaks rule two of the forum even if it was meant to be hyperbole and not meant to be threatening.

this is not the way we want to present ourselves to the world

And some people need to learn the difference between really calling for death and someone saying someone's an idiot. Apparently death, whether real or made up to offend and upset, is "art" to that girl, so she should be flattered.
