Storage Question

I am planning on finally moving some of my old long boxes out of my office and into my attic, which is a storage only attic. I decided against the basement just because I don't trust any cardboard in a place that can flood. So my thoughts are that I am going to pick up some weather proof tarps and lay a couple down on the ground and then cover the boxes with another one.

I am wondering what other people have done, and if my idea makes sense, or if I should go with something else.

I have no protection solutions for you, but I know this: Long boxes full of comics are heavy, and if you move a bunch of them in a short time, you'll feel it the next day. Whoever said this is hobby invoving exercise was completely wrong.

The attic may not be the best place for your comics. The heat often associated with attics and lack of ventilation may cause your comics to become dry and brittle over time. Ideally, you want to store your comics in a temperate environment where there is good air flow.
