Epicly good show. I really enjoyed it.
Anybody checking out Heather Stewart - Life Of The Party (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=277578955&s=143444).. I've listened to a couple of tracks, and it's not so bad. I'd buy it for the Alex love, but there's gotta be some full tracks to listen to somewhere.
Glen/Prager, maybe you should add the iTunes store link to the show notes ?

You know he just moved, right? May not have everything set up and where it will go yet. Cody and I moved four months ago and still haven't set up our place entirely.

Haha! Kevin's a toker. He ought to lip dub Midnight Cowboy.
That's no surprise, during the month of no drinking Alex hinted VERY VERY heavily that Kevin smoked during that month.

To be honest. My horror vision is getting arrested in the USA.
Just the idea of being assaulted (speak being arrested at the point of a gun) by some highway patrol.
And this seemingly arbitrary Justice system.
Sorry, i know it's different in different states. And after all i have no idea what i'm talking about. *g*
Egypt would be probably far worse.
But i just wanted to say that i really see it the other way around. ;)
Justice and police in the US scares me.
I hate wapons, and i don't understand why a Jury can decide what law is.
And death penalty. (I know not every state...)
As i said, i don't really understand the system.
Regards
Tilman from Germany
(I'm scared by German politicians [terror paranoia everywhere] but not the police and not the law/justice)

Hi!
I'm currently watching episode 146 and Alex and Kevin voted for experimental drugs for people who have diseases like Alzheimer etc.
I don't think that it's wise to allow people to be labrats (which they are if it's not well tested and released for the public). The argument that people should have the freedom to decide on their own because they can't make an "intellectual choice" when the disease will lead to death. Mind stops working and you can't really think about it because you just want to die.
What if you have 2 years to live, you put the drug in your body and die from it and a while later a real cure is released or other drugs are found that will give you more time on earth?
Of course you can argue that they may have died anyway, but it would be some kind of official allowed suicide.
Some drugs are really dangerous. Does anyone remember the british guy that died on drug tests last year? (or 2 years ago, don't remember)
And these drugs have been tested on animals before and have been set up for human tests.
Now imagine that people use drugs that didn't even passed all the animal tests...
What do you think?

Ops. sorry. I just realized that there is a thread for the show.
I guess i should have posted this there.

I don't buy into the argument that people can't make a choice when they're terminal.
I also firmly believe that people should have a right to choose HOW they want to do, and if they want to die trying to help people by trying out a drug that ALSO might save them, then I'm all for it.

I think it is quite offensive to state someone wouldn't be able to make a rational choice when faced with his or her mortality. When given the choice to die for sure, of having a shot at a cure, there really isn't a choice to make. You go for the treatment. Which by that stage will allready be tested on animals. Animal testing has just not finished so human trials are deemed dangerous. Well, death from disease is also dangerous. [insert sarcasm here]
So .. you take your chances. And if it kills you, you gave it your best shot.
You made a judgement call, and you stand by the consequences.
Then again .. I think suicide shouldn't be a crime anyway. And neither should euthanasia be. Assisted or otherwise. If you consult with a counselor and/or your doctor, with a second opinion from a specialist, you could come the the consensus that living would be more inhumane than death. Ultimately you and you alone own your mind and body, and you should be able to decide when and how it all ends. Involve your family and friends. Talk about it. Set a date. Do the paperwork. And then just go.
Boston Legal had a very good (imho) story about euthanasia last Tuesday

I bought it yesterday, mostly due to aforementioned Albrecht-likingness, but I was surprised how much I digg the album. The selection is varied and eclectic enough to be interesting while remaining firmly in the "Folk" camp. It's even turning into a great little soundtrack for this rainy Sunday afternoon. Thanks to Alex for mentioning it, and congrats to Heather for a job well done!
-Roy
PS- Now I'm just waiting for an album of Heather-Alex duets!

I think that people shouldn't be helped in taking high risks with experimental drugs, but Albrecht & Rose were probably talking about the point where death and losing any form of enjoyable lifetime is imminent. At that point of no return, you might want to take the chance.
People take chances everyday, by crossing the street at a red light, just to get to work on time (and not lose the job) and face the risk of getting hit by a car.
That's enough about that.
Loved the episode, the lip sync was well played, however .... I got the feeling you guys didn't know all the words :o
This kind of stuff could be done more often, unexpected special effects or lip-syncs :D

agreed, and I love the fact that they played it off like nothing happened. Alex starts singing, then at the end goes straight back into what he was saying before it started. which was great.

yea, the end was equally genius. that deserves a Webby in of itself XD
