Is it just me or does anyone else have a hard time understanding Dr. Kiki's Rad Science segments? She's great and all, but this show is supposed to be more for entertainment purposes than anything else and the last thing I want is to try really hard to understand what the hell she's talking about. Even when she was talking about water, it was too over the top for me to understand even 50% of it.

Actually the segment was about water and salt. I really liked the explanation of how water poisoning works.
The idea that the electrolyte content in a sports drink is related to energy is intriguing as well. I loved the light bulb demo.

Nope. I like the science section. If only my science teachers back in HS would have been this good/fun.

Dr. Kiki's segments are my favorite part of the show (with Moujan's being a close second). I've never had a problem understanding or following her. In fact, I wish they were a bit longer and went more in depth.

I agree with Rokov, more Dr Kiki.
Perhaps some text in the form of show notes or a wiki for each segment may help those who miss stuff when watching the segments. Sometime for
info dense podcasts like BrainScience or Security Now I will listen a couple times or look at the written transcripts. Sometimes I go to wikipedia for references.
Maybe Dr Kiki could also do a popQuiz a contest based on some previous episodes.

Well, I guess it's just me. I would like this show to be more of a show where you can just come home from work, relax, and watch it without much effort of trying to comprehend all that technical stuff...like diggnation. Maybe I'm just a little dyslexic? lol. All in all, I will still continue to watch this show and just enjoy it for what it is. :)

I understand your argument. You in it for shits and giggles.
Why not buzz of and ejoy the view?
Last year I studied science and all that. ( I flunked :( ) Chemistry was hard as fuck. If only popSiren launched a year earlier, I probably would be one step closer to attend medical school. This really inspires me to study. ;(
One suggestion, why not let Martin Sargent do a Dr.Kiki segment? =)

That could be ... interesting. It reminds me of when Martin used to co-host The Screen Savers when Leo was out. There wasn't much in the way of substance, but it was funny.:p

I really like Dr. Kiki's segment. Also, I think the segment is just the right length. If it's any longer, then it would be too much information at one time. Any shorter and well, I'd want it to be longer. I actually learn stuff which makes me feel better when I watch popsiren instead of doing hw.

Personally, I like the Rad Science segment. Some of the science lingo is a little bit much, but I get most of it. I just did the light bulb experiment in my chem class the other day. I thought that was a funny coincidence. Plus, Dr. Kiki is much better looking than my chemistry teacher.

I really like the Rad Science too. The only thing I didn't like recently was the breaking up into three segments like they did in the last episode. To me, it seems they're trying to give less information on people in segments, which I guess is fine, but it shouldn't go past two. Hopefully they won't do it in future episodes.

I understand every word that comes of Doctor Sanford's mouth. But, she has to be careful to keep everything inside a small time-window. So, she doesn't have time for a lot of extra exposition.

solution: give Dr. Kiki her own show! Its smart that they split up her segment this week. It does make it a bit more coherent, instead of Dr. Kiki having to use 30 second sentences to try and fit in all the info in there.

Speaking of Mythbusters, what an awesome show.
Well, to be very specific, I didn't understand the talk about dvd's, break, then talk about blu-ray. Since there wasn't much more to say about both, it puzzled me. I love the fact that she mentioned about the eventual 100 GB of space though, cause that's why it beat out HD-DVD, and why I knew it would a long time ago.

It beat out HD-DVD for a number of reasons, the major one was movie companies switching sides and then the HD-DVD group just giving up, like canceling their CES stuff.
In any case, I agree with you that that break felt odd. Cause DVD and Blu-ray are very similar technology wise. I bet they filmed it all at once, and it made sense there before they split the parts. The first break made more sense, however I don't like the breaks in general. If she needs more time, let her have it. Kevin Rose was on Internet Superstar for Ad-tech (one of the only IS I've watched) and he said that one of the reasons he likes internet tv over traditional is that the hosts/producers are not completely stuck with the "You have exactly 5 minutes to talk about this then 5 for this" With IPTV, they are not on a strict schedule. Now yes, ideally the show would run around the same amount of time. But I liked that Kevin didn't want to try and limit the show/hosts/producers/etc.

Old habits die hard. popSiren seems to be very tied to a traditional TV format.

Personally, I think it's a bad thing. I thin Mythbusters has taken a downturn the past couple years...and one of the major issues is the network forcing them to spread each myth out throughout the hour rather than letting them focus on one until it's finished. (Not to mention the 'Coming up after the break...' and the like cutting into content time.)
I like the Kiki segments, but hate that they split them up in the last one.

Same can be said for most of Revision3 these days. Or, at least, they're trying to be that way.

my point exactly. Why try to re-invent TV in this medium? I want Rev3 to be a bit more forward-thinking than that.

Same here...one of the reasons I liked this place was because they didn't resemble television...but that all changed last year.
we need more segments like dr.kiki's. the shows that make you think are the ones that are truly worthwhile.
