Last I heard, Capcom and Marvel don't like each other anymore for whatever reason (rights and what not to characters?). That's why the game's not in print anymore and why we haven't seen sequels and that's why we'll probably never get to enjoy MvC2 online... :(

Very sad indeed, however never say never as stranger things have happened.

I had no idea there was a fallout. I soooo want a MvC3. I only recently got MvC2 on my PC thanks to a dreamcast emulator. I would totally buy an arcade machine.

There's a copy at my local Gamestop with an $80 price tag on it. Insanity.

The problem stems from when Capcom introduced an unknown character into Street Fighter Vs. Marvel. In which Capcom did not give the heads up okay with Marvel. You can only play this character, if you have the Japanese version of Street Fighter Vs. Marvel.
The character that Marvel had a problem with was some kind of Japanese comedian. The only thing I know about this comedian that he would go up to people and scream at them and they would film people's reactions. He became quite famous in Japan.
After looking it up I think his name is Norimaro

So...they had a problem with that, but they let Capcom make 2 more games in the series?

Well after Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 it went to SNK Vs Capcom I think. I'd like to actually see MvC 2 on PSP or PS2/3. I'm so used to playing fighting games back from Genesis that the 6 button layout of the arcade or some Genesis controllers seem more natural to me. Anyone else think that way? Could be why I didn't care for DOA 4, but I also didn't like the combat or AI in the game.

If I am to play an arcade style fighting game (Every fighting game except the sports based ones...) I won't ever do it without an arcade stick. When you're used to a stick, playing it with a regular controller is a terrible experience.
The best example I can think of is the "Virtua Fighter" series. Those games are so incredibly much more frustrating with a regular controller if you're gonna do the tech stuff in them. For something a little less techy ("Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike", for example) you can do with a regular controller, but I felt I had much more ease of command with an arcade stick.

Yeah I can see that. I guess more of my problem with some controls were more then 4 attack buttons and using controllers with triggers. My favorite fighting game in the last few years was probably Soul Calibur and I had the Gamecube version. I can use the directional pad or analog stick almost on most fighting games, just something about those bumpers. I really enjoyed Marvel Vs. Capcom in the arcades, but trying it on the Dreamcast wasn't quite the same. Could've been the arcade stick too, now if only more companies would develop more Arcade games like Street Fighter 4.
