All eight seasons are available to watch online with Netflix, so you really have no excuse not to give it a try (aside from that they make you use IE). ;)
I'm only on the second episode so far, and I'm kinda meh right now, but the characters are interesting enough that I think it'll grow on me.

I saw a few episodes a bunch of years ago when they were airing on PBS, and I'm still pretty much "meh" about the series.
I like Britcoms, but this one never really interested me as much as, say, 'Allo, 'allo!, or Fawlty Towers.
I watched them on PBS also. While I liked the beginning it gets better when they find Kryten and later when parallel Kochanski gets stuck with them. :o

I grew up with this show and read the books (yes there are books) when I was a kid.
It definitely gets better.. the first series isn't as good as the rest. But it sets up the story etc. Worth sticking with. The Cat turns up in Episode 4 and changes the show a bit, more humour. Kryten comes in series 3 and changes it a little again. My favourite series were probably 2 and 3. I used to watch it in front of the TV in the Kitchen when I was 6 or 7... so many memories. :p
Wow, it boggles my mind that someone is only just finding out about Red Dwarf!
Although I haven't seen Season 8, the first 7 are classic, enjoy Serafina!

I not only have loved Red Dwarf for nearly 14-years. I've watch most of them on Netflix already. I recommend series 6.

Its cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere.
I'm all alone, more or less.
Let me fly, far away from here,
Fun, fun, fun, in the sun, sun, sun.
I want to lie, shipwrecked and comotoase,
Drinking fresh mango juice,
Goldfish shoals nibbling at my toes,
Fun, fun, fun, In the sun, sun, sun,
Fun, fun, fun, In the sun, sun, sun.

Let's see... Red Dwarf... I see that name and read "Amazing".
If any thing, the only thing wrong with it is the last episode of the current last series is a really annoying cliff hanger.

Hell yeah, you get deeper into the series and it's amazing. The Lister / Rimmer bunk scenes are legendary.

It actually latches on then grows like a tumor. Before you know it, you'll need a lobotomy to get it off, not that you would want to.:p
SMEG!

Yes, the first series isn't as funny as some of the rest. Like I said, series 6 made me laugh so hard, I nearly threw up.

They've been up there for almost a year now. One of the best damn TV shows ever.

I've been watching this show forever and still loving it. I seen the show, read the book, listen to the audio books, and the specials.
Turn the first season wasn't the best but even the producers have said that. I didn't like the 8th season because they resurrected the ship which was counter to the show. But the last scene with Rimmer is classic. Rimmer was in my opinion was Aces.
Great Britcom.

I grew up watching this show. I have never been a big fan of Sci-Fi but loved watching Red Dwarf.
It's a great show and it's been a good few years since they made any new episodes (think there were plans for a film at one point) but the old episodes are great.
They also created one of the greatest insults of all time.... Smeg.

I still snigger when I see a Smeg fridge.
