None of the titles that I normally read in issues are coming out this week. Anybody got suggestions as to titles that are jumponable?

Ms. Marvel! I jumped on last issue, which turned out to probably be the best jumping on point, so pick up #25 and 26 if you can. If you only want the newest one, basically what you need to know is that there is a Skrull trying to replace Ms. Marvel and she has just found out about.

Are the Dodsons doing the art on Ms. Marvel?

The thread title is a good set-up for a punchline...
However...
I will only say that it would be a good time to give the X titles a try if you're not already because a new team is getting ready to form. Spider-Man, also, is not too far along in its reboot so you could jump on there.

Both X-men: First Class and Wolverine: First Class have new issues this week. They're generally one-and-done, so you can pick up any issues. These are all-ages titles, but definitely not just-for-kids' books. Great portrayals of classic Marvel characters, which work equally well whether you're new to the characters or a continuity junkie. Plus, they're just funny and fun.

There is a Wolverine: First Class book? Jesus H. Christ.

I'll pass on Marvel Zombies: First Class.

I'd love to, but this week is seriously pretty ass. I get like, 7 books when I normally average 16. God I hate 5th weeks.
Uhmm... if your shop has issues 1-4, the new issue of The Northlanders is out. You could try that. Or the last issue of the new Wormwood Gentleman Corpse is out too (called Calamari Rising) you could look for those as well.
I dunno. This week is just really boring except the new QUEEN & COUNTRY tpb...

I might pick up JLA too.
Can I jump on Batman original recipe now?

Batman 675 - Some might say it wouldn't be a good jumping on point, but I think you'd have as much of an idea about what's going on if you jumped on here as you would if you've been reading for the last year. In a good way.
Mighty Avengers 12 - It's Bendis and Maleev doing Nick Fury. Great!
Ultimate Spider-Man 121 - If you don't have any books this week it mean you aren't buying this. You should be.

is JLA still ass?

We don't know... It's a new story arc it looks like...
But if it's McDuffie without editorial mandates, we should be good... I have the faith...

It's been pretty good the last few months. And now it's back to just McDuffie on writing.

You're not the only one... I'm bummed about some of the editorial at DC right now, especially with JLA...

Let's just say it was much better than Titans #1.

I WAS looking foreward to Glamourpus #1 but it seems to have been pushed back.
I'll probably end up getting on-board with Ultimate Spidey (finally) and maybe pick up Mighty Avengers #12 since it's a major SI tie in.
meh.

If you're reading Secret Invasion you probably should pick up both Avengers titles... They're supposed to tie in heavily to the goings on of the event...
Also, go back and pick up the trades of USM... I'm not saying don't start this week (it's a new story arc) but the story's so good...

Postmortem Kitty?
I'll pass on Marvel Zombies: First Class.
The "First Class" concept is actually similar to "Year One," except as an ongoing series -- so this is set during Kitty's first year on the X-men team (so it really should be called 'Kitty Pryde: First Class,' but Wolverine is prominent). Personally, I love that Marvel is doing these books, and I don't think the concept is over sold yet.
(Ooops, just figured out the 'quoting' thing; sorry.)

Hack/Slash is an excellent title that everyone should be reading. So far, #10 is my top single issue of 2008 so far (hell, I even bought the original art to the cover, that's how much I loved it). You can jump on with almost every issue, and so far there have been a lot of stand alone stories and a couple two and three part arcs. Everyone should check it out! :D

I know but it was more fun imagining my version of a Zombie Kitty Pryde: First Class book. :D

Don't, it was bad. I actually felt embarrassed for McDuffie having to have his name on it even though I could tell most of it had nothing to do with him. I might give tomorrow's issue a shot since it looks to be all him.

And since Ron had the balls to recognize it last week (and I raved about it about a month ago, natch) you could always hunt down the first two issues of YOUNG LIARS. Really, what better way could you spend $6?
