Really enjoyed Monday's episode. Maybe because I have those comics tucked in a box somewhere, at least I hope I do. But also because of Conor's enthusiasm for the simple joy of reading comics. Fun. Comics can be fun.

Conor, I envy you greatly. I've been trying to find issues 100 and 111 of Captain America for a pretty low price on Ebay for the last week or two. I only have a few comics from the 1960's that have Kirby or Ditko art and my wife came up with the idea to frame them as artwork and put them on one of the wall of my "study." So I've been trying to get 100 and 111 because they are beautiful covers by Kirby and Steranko. What a luck find! The only comics my mom find for me are crummy mid-1990s ones.
Just curious, do you know how much the lot went for? If that is a rude question, just tell me I am rude and refuse to answer.:)

I got a very nice copy of Captain America #100 for $25. It was a steal.

It went for a bit over $100. The other lot of comics was Daredevil #2-50 (I think) and that one went for $600.

Wow! If I was there, I would have jumped on that in a flash.
That Daredevil lot is cool, too. I wonder if I'll ever be able to drop $600 on comics in one day.

Great job putting together the Stan Lee episode. Glad you got a truly epic "Excelsior!" in there.

Who's awesome? Stan Lee is awesome! That was a great episode. I always get a kick about how much of a ham Stan is. It's like he doesn't have an off button. I wonder where this ranks for Ron on his "Comic People I've Met/Interviewed" meter.

Can you think of anyone else who would be above Stan?

That "Excelsior!" had me laughing so hard... And I'm one of those peoples who's been on the outs for so long when it comes to people like Stan Lee that I don't even get it... Teehee...

Wow, is it comic geek blaspheme to get annoyed by the Stan Lee arrogance? I used to love the man, but ever since the Ditko documentary I've just never been able to look at him the same way... I still think he's a genius and deserving of the credit he receives... the arrogance and pride that he takes in total just seems misplaced over just one person... Not that other people don't give credit to his co-creators... uhg, i'm just rambling now... i'm not a hater, i swear...

In his defense, the arrogance is sort of a persona. He's just playing the Godfather role.

I thought that was pretty obvious. It's all delivered very tongue in cheek. Guess not...
I love the little winks he keeps giving to people as Ron's interviewing him. The guy clearly loves what he's doing.
If I had people screaming at the mere appearance of my visage, I'd probably scream Excelsior too.

While watching the Stan Lee interview I started to wonder when Ron was going to kiss Stan Lee's Ring and pronounce undying servitude. The shear giddiness of Ron's voice thrilled me to on in. Hazah.

Pretty much about as high as you can get.

Did he try to mouth kiss Terry Moore during an interview or did I just dream that?

But wait...I wasn't in any of them...
I did hold the camera for several. I guess that'll have to do.
Thanks guys!
