I'm saving the Earth by conserving energy.

Ummm...I switched my iGoogle theme to something dark.
i connected my landlady up with a free florida power and light incentive
fpl hired paid for and supervised the contractor to put insulation in the top floor of my building
the building is a historic building from the miami moderne genre
fpl is going to look at all their other properties to see if they are also qualified
it just happens that today was when they did the work
i have been trying to get it to happen since december

I jumped in my hummer and drove 30 miles to the better Home Depot so I could buy 10g drum of Roundup for the yard. I only needed about 1/2g, so I put the rest down the storm water drain. It was time to wash the car, so I got the hose at just the right pressure - then my mother called - so I left the hose to run down the drain (washing away the RoundUp) while we talked on the phone. Oh yeah - I really really enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass I had for lunch.
Hmmm. Not really. We are down to being a one car family, I telecommute, I have the major lights in the house on dimmers, or running compact fluros. I underwater the lawn, but did put on a 2in1 weed/feed two weeks ago, and will be over seeding in 2 weeks time. I'll need to water the seeds in, but then it will be back to infrequent deep soaks. My car hasn't been washed with a hose in two years - I did do a bucket wash last year followed by a cut and polish. Car stays pretty clean that way.
Earth day is a pretty normal day for me.

Turned off the propane water heater and went totally on solar hot water this week. Not just for earth day, but it's finally been warm enough to go totally back to solar for the spring/summer.
