What is the best combination of two sets of characters (comicbook/videogame/novel) you'd like to face-off in a fighting game?

eg: Image VS Marvel or Streetfighter VS X-Men

Just think, you could pit Spawn versus Venom or Blanka versus Wolverine!!

SSBB gave me Sonic vs Mario(Sonic won) but now I want Samus Aran vs Master Chief in the next installment(I will make sure Samus wins)

Also would like to See Ryo from Shenmue vs Akira from VF(since originally Shenmue was going to be VF RPG and Akira was a young teen):p

I really like the idea of Golden Age comic characters against the current age. I'm not sure what the best match-ups would be, but it would be really interesting.

I kind of like Heroes v. X-Men, although some of the Heroes powers might be hard to make interesting and fun.

And finally: Simpsons v. Family Guy. Could Lisa beat up Meg? Who knows?

Well, obviously DC vs Marvel would be on the top of my list. As much as I'd that game to be in 3D, 2-D fighting seems the safest route for a good gaming experience.

I'd definitely like to see Square vs Enix. Very much possible these days. Just take that PSP FF fighting game they got planned and throw in some Star Ocean or Dragon Quest characters.

My idea of a great fighting game would be 20 members from the Star Wars movies, and 20 characters from the Star Trek movies. I'd call it Nerds VS Geeks. Although, I'm sure Geeks would win every time, but whatever. The Nerds could get lucky, or turn the difficulty down to Easy.

This is what I thought when I heard Superman was going to be in Mortal Kombat VS DC...It's impossible or just bastardizing.
