I decided to give this a watch because I recognized all the guests. I have to say this : FIND BETTER HOSTS. Seriously, they are trying so hard to be funny and do not succeed. If it weren't for the amazing guests that would have sucked.

This was a good episode except for the final segment with Gary Vaynerchuk. They should have done a Coach Cole and Gator's Gals segment instead of that interview. Would have been much better.

I liked Gary Vaynerchuck, but his interview was too short compared to the others. Plus, I liked the pot shots they were taking at each other.
Valleywag is so full of it, though. They said this episode was so unwatchable and sponsors were gonna pull out, and all this other bullshit.

Man I just found that Vallywag site the other day, is it real or is it a joke site? Please tell me it's a joke site....

I totally agree with you. I really don't know how ValleyWag thought this show was unwatchable. I have to admit, it wasn't as funny us their regular shows, and the "parodies" were old ones, I liked it.
Gary inspired me to do my own thing.
2k per week. My fucking good. I can't masturbate that many times in a week, let a lone earn that much money :(

It's a real site. It's sort of a gizmodo vs Perez hilton doing Silicon Valley celebrity gossip

I agree! The last interview with Vallywag made the show take a turn for the worst! Mardi, I thought he was going to pull you out of your chair for a second there. You already have a cane, what more does he want, lol ;)
Great Job Martin & Gator! Now stop picking on little old ladies, just let them have their candy! LMAO! :D

Valleywag's is a website, I think you're thinking of Vaynerchuck :P
I liked his segment though, it was odd, but not bad.
Gator was up and down though. A couple classic quotes there, but also a couple of odd ones... like the 4 bodies in his backyard was kinda, er, odd.
But the three 0's was hysterical.

Oops my bad. Your right *blush* Still the show would of been better off without him.

Solid episode. I was cracking up at some of the comments.

I know this is going to sound odd but i think the majority of the problem i had with this episode was the crowd they had. If it was made up of people that watch their shows it would have been better people would have gotten the joke when Dr tiki said lala had been popular on digg recently as well as many others, also i noticed a lot of jokes that i though were hilarious that no one laughed at. The only thing people got interested in was when the Wine library tv guy was talking about money.
If this same episode happened exactly as it happened but before the diggnation show in Amsterdam it would have been a lot better show the people would have looked a lot less awkward
Also the Valleywag article is just them not understanding the audience that watches these types of shows I laughed pretty hard when he asked what they were so happy about.
Also when he asked the guy if he knew who the closing keynote speaker was and the guy responded kevin rose was hilarious but the people in the audience didn't laugh because they didn't know how he use to constantly trash talk about kevin and call kevin his apprentices on infected.

Guests were channeling GigaOM on a comedy show but I still liked it. Who else is there to blame other than louderback... obv

That's funny, because I feel the complete opposite. I like Martin and Gator and think they are hilarious, but I couldn't give two shits aboyt the guests. To me Gator's witty comments appear totally improv and not forced. To each their own I guess.

Totally agree on the crappy crowd. Nobody seemed to get it, and thats weird. Maybe all of the people that understood what the shows were doing were passed out, or had left to do something useful.
Watching how Rose reacted to the crowd was priceless. It was like he was trying to explain what is going on to his grandmother, and he knew she wouldn't get it, but he had to tell it with his friends cracking jokes in the background. It was that uncomfortable. Same thing happened with Nichols and MacPherson. All of 8 people laughing, and they were probably running the cameras. Just a crappy crowd. The show was good. despite Vanderwhoever. I'd guess the crowd was only there to kiss his ass, or had bought into his hype. Seriously, who drinks wine anyway?
This show would have been completely different if they had done it to open the conf. Maybe they will get a shot at a conference people want to go to.
When Martin and Gator shut down on somebody, even in a closing keynote, you know that person sucks. Next time I see a 'man' drinking a glass of wine, I'll punch him square in the face, out of spite, just for Gator.

I really thought this was a soild show. Great guests and I really think it did well to show off Marty's interviewing skills under a lighter tone. Though I will fully admit this crowd didnt really get the show, I could easily hear the pitch selling for advertisers and what supporting podcasts can do for them (which all of it was very right)

Took me a while to realize why the crowd was so bad. Had to watch it a second time through.
If you notice every one he asked at the beginning if they were going to the closing keynote said they weren't going to go because they had a party to go to. So the only people at this keynote ether turned down a party or was never invited to any which i think says a lot about the audience.

Yes Martin and Gator has work to do but this was a good episode though.
My problem with the hosts lie with the fact that they try to hard to be funny, Tom Green does the same thing. I just don't like that style personally but i'm sure there are people who do.

Great job, I loved the episode, though I understand that their audience SUCKED. I am almost sure the complete opposite is gonna happen at mighty, REAL internet superstar fans. Gary was over the top, didnt like his speech, thought it was the wrong show to give it, though I did suscribe to his podcast after I saw it because he looks like he does that well. I love Marty and Gator, keep up the great work guys! Dont let this crappy audience get to you!!

This episode is the one I've been the most satisfied with since the beginning. This is the way Internet Superstar should be. Meet the celebrities of the Internet, have them talk of what made them famous and stuff.
I think the instant flames (tron guy, numa numa guy and company) should be limited to the Lil' Internet superstars witch they are. Don't turn it in a GigaOM show either, I don't want to go in depth of their business, keep it light headed and fun.
In a more controlled interview style you could have Gator and Martin interview one at a time.

Even with that boring audience, Gator was on fire. He had that whole place laughing.

Fun to watch, just seemed like the wrong place to hold the show.. but maybe somebody there learned a little about podcasting, which could come back to help out the guys.
Internet Superstar needs a smaller venue, like the bars Diggnation used to tape in. Hopefully the Mighty will work for them. Business people who aren't partying isn't exactly the core demographic.
And I like Gary V, but what was the deal with trying to make a soapbox speech on a comedy show? Dude, he's got his own business, his own podcast, books and websites.. it's not exactly like he's hurting for ways to get his thoughts out there.
Oh well, good show.

This episode was the best yet for one reason alone: LIVE guests! I love this show, Martin and Gator are the only reason (well used to be the only reason) why I came to Rev3, but a live guest or two every once in awhile would ramp the show up from 10 to a 46! Great show all around though, I even liked Vaynerchucks'(sp?) spiel. Can't wait for the Mighty.

THAT's what Internet Superstar has to be on a regular basis. The show was phenomenal, Martin & Gator did a great job hosting this event, and I insist because I think it's a real hard thing to do and they were at their best. I liked all of the guests, the jokes and everything. The only problem obviously was the audience, but probably not as much as some here make it out to be. I believe a lot of people were laughing and having a good time, and weren't just there for the business and money talk, but couldn't laugh at the "inside" jokes that they didn't understand.
Overall, really great episode, I'd go as far as to say that it was better than most of the diggnation live shows, because of the interaction between the people.
We need more live shows with rev3 hosts!! That'd be awesome. :)

I thought it was a good show....
I think with the nature of this particular audience, they should have avoided things like profanity and the word, "penis"...but nevertheless, it was a good show.

Awesome show! It was so great to have live guests, and actually get to see them all interacting with each other. The audience might have been lame, but this show made me remember how much better Marty is with a crowd to bounce off of. Internet Superstar needs more live shows!
And props to Gator, who definitely got the most laughs.

Yeah, I think this crowd was about as far away from the demographic of this show as possible. Although it still may have been interesting for them to see the very fringe of the bleeding edge of entertainment, so to speak. I think it may have been a bit too long too, or at least had too many guests. Comedy tends to like a faster pace/be short and sweet. Imagine if Conan had like 5 guests on every night.
Also, its amazing that the old stuck up crowd still fell for Gator's charm. What a great character.

I don't understand what all this fuss about the crowd. Sure they weren't as raucous as diggnation fans, but for a group of folks who had probably not even heard of Revision 3 before, they seemed to be enjoying themselves. I didn't hear too many moments of silence. Marty and Gator seemed to be getting a lot of laughs from the crowd (as well as the Ask a Ninja guys).
As for Vaynerchuk's speech at the end; I'd just say keep in mind the audience that was there. Gary was the only one to really address this whole podcasting phenomenon to those people in a language that they could understand. Hopefully many of the folks there were listening to him when he was talking, and are now considering testing the waters with podcasts. Preferably Rev3 podcasts.

All in all, great show. If we ignore the audience and Gary, it was pretty entertaining.
BTW the link for tikibar at: http://revision3.com/internetsuperstar/adtech/ is broken. There is a whitespace in between http:// and the rest of the url.
