Dan's favorite book?

In one episode of TRS, Dan says he didn't like to read but he did read one book. I can't remember the title, but he said it was his favorite and he read it in one day. The book is about teenagers and high school (I think), and has a really crazy "cartoon-ish" cover with a bunch of drawings on it.

It is also a somewhat popular book that came out in the (I believe) 90's.

Instead of going through every episode, does anyone more hardcore TRS fan know which book I'm talking about?

Ah, my mistake, that was poorly worded. There was some joke in that episode about you defending your literary voracity and I must have misunderstood.
