Launch Week!!

As many of you guys know, the Wii and PS3 are coming out this week. Who's picking up what? And what games do you guys plan to pick up? I'm going to be camping out Walmart on the 18th for a Wii.

I have a pre-sale for the Wii... and plan on going out on Saturday night to pick it up. As for the PS3. I ain't even THINKING about touching that thing until at least next March. I heard the first batch is way buggy... plus there are only, what? 3-5 games at launch? And none of them sound interesting.

X360 has been out a year, and there's only two-three interesting titles out for that thing.

There's a blog (http://dreamgamers.blogcindario.com/2006/11/00018-rr-6-xbox-360-versus-rr-7-ps3.html) out there with some side-by-side pics of PS3 and 360 both running Ridge Racer 7. 360 looks so much better.

That's not to say that the PS3 couldn't look as good if not better, it just doesn't seem to be the case for some of the games being developed for both consoles, or for one then ported to the other. It looks like it's all going to come down to exclusive titles to see what makes or breaks the PS3 and ultimately win the console war. 360 has a huge advantage right now.

I'm taking half of that back, I didn't scroll down all the way to see the up close pics. PS3 looks so much more detailed and cleaner than the 360 pics do. But in the first few photo's it looks like they just didn't put as much detail into the PS3 backgrounds as they did the 360's. Some things look nice on one system and like shit on the other and vise versa. Overall I'm digging that PS3 picture near the bottom of the post the most. Point PS3

What are you smokin' poltah? There are tons of good games out for 360. Do you mean there aren't any good exclusives? I beg to differ: Gears of War and Dead Rising ALONE are two top rate exclusives, and in the next year 360 will be getting Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Halo 3.

I beg to differ. Inter console hate helps this community stay the way it is. Hateful and full of geek pride over things that probably won't help us get laid.

I played Ridge Racer 7 at an Gamespot event in San Francisco. It does offer better graphics, but does the experience change between the 360 and PS3? It doesn't. It's almost the same game with a different interface, a little more attention to graphical detail and a couple of new features.

I think if the whole world joined together and sang Seal-get it together and worked to love one another and create a better world for all of us. All of our problems would be solved. Unfortunately not everyone will do that, nor will anyone ever stop fighting over which console is better. Its an endless cycle that just continues to divide us, not for our enjoyment or entertainment (like videogames should do) but to spawn hatred and separate us even further.
