Pleo (http://www.pleoworld.com/)

At $349 the price isn't as bad as I thought it would be. I need to win a raffle now for one of these things, have more important things to spend money on, but they do look fun.

I have one. It's pretty cool. My 1 yr old is enthralled with it, but it's definitely too delicate to let him alone with it. They just released a software update which is supposed to allow Pleo's personality to be more robust (I have not had the time to upgrade yet). Very cool stuff. Outside of the loud motors inside Pleo acts very naturally. Lots of fun.

How long have you had it? How long do you think before the novelty wears off? Furbies were cool for about two weeks. I want a Furby.

I was part of the initial pre-order release so I've had it for around 6 months I guess... Bottom line is I don't have much time to play with any of my toys between work and home but Pleo is pretty cool. As I mentioned I haven't even updated it yet with the new software... but for what it's worth I think it has a much longer "life cycle" than a Furby. Novelty definitely hasn't worn off and Ugobe seems like they're going to keep rolling out cool updates.
