Hey everybody, just a heads up that if you're one of the lucky ones to use the social brew code to sign up at Ping.fm, the code has no spaces like they throw up on the show.

Correct: socialbrew
Incorrect: social brew

If all 50 are already used you can use pingfriends as the beta code also.

thanx for the update, i tried it earlier with the spaces and it said invalid. the site seems pretty cool. running into a few bugs, but thats expected with it being in beta and all.

I got it working with the code. It must be one of those bugs you mentioned.

So....what did you guys think of Ping.fm? Would you use it? I think if I was more mobile, I'd be more inclined to use it. Thoughts?

I just activated it with twitter, tumblr, myspace, facebook, and pownce... it does whats advertised. But I agree, I wish it were more mobile (i.e. SMS text messaging). Plus I wish it would "reverse" update, like if I update just my Facebook or just my Twitter, my status update will propagate to the other services.

actually yes I would I believe, I sent an email into Tekzilla a couple of days ago on looking for something like this. The only 2 things I'm still looking for, I do tend to make longer LJ posts as my main blog, but also I'd like something for deviantART journals as well, but that could be more do to dA trying to not break their paid subscription model more than anything.

one of my friends did point me in the direction of:
http://www.hellotxt.com (http://www.hellotxt.com/)
but I still think i'll go with ping.fm

Awesome tip Neha

I sometimes use HelloTxt, and I think it's pretty similar.

As cool as the service is, I just don't think I'll use it too often. Being that I'm basically just on twitter and Facebook and with the twitter Facebook app I would just be repeating myself. Ironically, exactly what Ping.fm strives to eliminate. lol

I can see myself using ping.fm just for facebook. being able to update my status via AIM is pretty grand, and eventually my friends might hop on board with twitter, and I can cross pollinate the interwebs!

Well I am not all that mobile, and I don't have an account on all the compatible sites, but just the fact that I can post to all the sites at the same time without all the passwords is beautiful. I usually am at work or at home, but I find this is very useful, now all I need is an iPhone.

Hey guys, I got an invite the other day and thought I'd share mine. Use "landofping" without the quotes. I'm not sure how many it gives out but feel free to use it until it expires.
