Under things the Silver Age fan never thought about:

I love the panels where Catwoman rips off her disguise revealing that, not only was she wearing her cowl with tall, point ears, under the rubber face mask, but also that she's suddenly in an entirely different outfit-- including cape!

If you're able to appreciate such things with humor and affection, check out Tom Kater's podcast.

So Conor, was this a random back issue you had collected? Without checking, I would think the Aparo cover art dates this well before you were reading comics or maybe even alive.

Well the issue is from 1981 so I was alive, but I used to buy a lot of back issues of Batman comics when I was a kid. I'd buy anything with Robin on the cover.

God damn... The past two minis have been quality... Josh's snarky yesterday was hilarious and when he said "Ultimate Hulk Vs. Wolverine #3" I laughed ever so hard... And then today's with Conor... Awesome... That's just super great... I was thoroughly entertained! Excellent job on the last two!

Hi, I would like to make a simple suggestion, After today's mini-episode (5/1/08) I would like to suggest that every week's show should just be Josh making fun of 90s covers. Frankly I haven't laughed out loud like that in a while, now everone at work knows I wasn't actually working.

These have been great lately. It came from the storage unit is a great idea. I love Thor, so today's was awesome for me and I will forever be jealous of Ron for his interview with Stan Lee from last week.

When I saw the topic "Thor Covers" I instantly thought of Thor 337. Iconic. Guess they were sold out!

Love the Batman mini. Might I also suggest occasionally highlighting favorite back issues? For example I might pull out a Tim Vigil's Omega #1, an X-Men #136, or Miracleman #15.

I love that classic Batman logo.

Connor: Have you ever read Batman Annual #11, which has an Alan Moore Clayface short story in it? Your mini got me thinking about forgotten Batman stories.

I absolutely would have included it:

Simonson was amazing on Thor. Goddamn.

Simonson was amazing on Thor. Goddamn.

His Fantastic Four run was pretty good too. There was one particular issue where Mister Fantastic and Doctor Doom fight a battle while time travelling and if you read the issue straight through, it doesn't make sense, but if you follow the timecodes in the panels, you can figure out what's going on. Pretty cool.

Isn't it funny how in the 80s both Marvel and DC were constantly replacing their heroes? Green Lantern, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Flash...

i just watched the storage bin episode, great stuff.
Quick question Conor: did that issue end up falling apart once you scanned it for the episode? that would suck

Comics (prestige editions aside) actually scan really well because they lie flat. It's trades that get f'ed up. Old trades with crappy glue are the worst.

And hardcovers? Forget it.

The more you know...

Field trips (to the comic shop or elsewhere) always make for great iFanboy video shows. Good stuff.

Here's my pitch.

POV camera (pinhole camera on pair of glasses maybe?), read a comic book, do color commentary.

Green screen and three tiny heads at the bottom right ala MST3K.
