Which browser are you using and why?
Choices:
Camino - caminobrowser.org (http://www.caminobrowser.org/)
A Gecko browser specifically aimed at Mac users for its style and simplicity.
Firefox - mozilla.com (http://www.mozilla.com/)
Mozilla's most popular browser. Highly customizable.
Omniweb - omnigroup.com/omniweb (http://www.omnigroup.com/omniweb)
Web browser based on Safari. Gives you more control over sites, and has unique sidebar tabs. Shareware.
Opera - opera.com (http://www.opera.com/)
Fast cross-platform web browser that is developed by a closed community.
Safari - apple.com (http://www.apple.com/)
Default browser in OS X.
Shiira - http://hmdt-web.net/shiira/en
Based on WebKit, gives you more control over websites.
WebKit - webkit.org (http://www.webkit.org/)
Think of this browser as a bleeding edge Safari. WebKit is the name of the code that Safari is based on. The browser for it is also called WebKit.

I'm using Mozilla 1.7. Why haven't I switched to Firefox? Well, to begin with Firefox was missing some key options that I loved in Mozilla, so I stuck with Mozilla. I'm sure those features are in there now, but as the old saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
So to answer your question, none of the above.

firefox for mac isn't that great. Kinda big and slow. If i was going to use firefox, i'd use camino as it's just a prettier faster firefox. But really all I use is Safari except for photobucket. always hangs on uploads. Does that happen to anyone else?

For *me* Firefox (2.0.0.1) is the best browser for Mac OS X. I like some features of Apple's Safari browser, like 'private browsing'. But it doesn't have tabbed browsing which is a must for me.

Safari does have tabs, but you have to turn the feature on.
Go to Preferences > Tabs > check off "enable tabbed browsing".

Thanks for the tip! You'd think they'd have it automatically turned on since it's such a nice feature.

Webkit / Safari / Shiira - useless, can't render many sites. Mac fanboys love to whine 'oh it's because IE doesn't stick to standards' - IE is the practical standard, numbnuts.
Camino - buggy.
Firefox - the only one I bother using. 2.0 stopped crashing on the Mac all the time, which is nice.

That's not true. I've been into web design since 7th or 8th grade, and I started out with all my sites being viewed in IE. Once I finally switched to Firefox, I realized that a lot of the code you use for IE is made for IE and only IE. Even if IE is most of the market so it could be determined the "standard" in that sense, code that actually is regulated should be able to be viewed in most common browsers. When viewing a site in Firefox or Safari, the reason it shows mistakes isn't the fault of the browser - it is displaying the flaws in the code.

I said the practical standard, i,e. how many out there use IE

I only use IE when I have to, especially since Microsoft stopped supporting and updating it for the Mac.

Well, considering this is in an APPLE forum, it's not the "practical" standard to anyone in this thread. Second, anyone learning how to code or design who learn strictly for IE, just because of the amount of people who use it, are learning the wrong way. Third, how much is the usage of browsers dependent on age and not the actual people accessing your content? If you code for IE because it's the "practical" standard, but your site is geared towards 18-25 year olds, chances are that they're all using something OTHER than IE.

if you use a lot of Google services then Firefox is the way to go. you get Google suggest built-in, the Google notebook extension, the Google browser sync extension, and various third party google bookmarks extensions. the third-party CustomizeGoogle extension is real nice (does a lot of things like default a lot of Google sites to https). also, the spell check as you type is really nice. plus, the Adblock extension and Stylish extension are really nice for reformatting sites to look the way you want them to look.

I use Camino,Firefox,Opera and Safari. Does that seem like a lot to me? No because when I am coding my company's web site I need to work with Mac browsers (Not that they aren't important, but just saying.)

I find this really annoying. When I ran Windows, I was a chronic Firefox user. When I got on to OS X, the first thing I downloaded was Firefox. However, I still seem to be using Safari. I don't know what it is...Safari's capabilities are so limited for someone like me -- but the unified (brushed metal) UI and the CORRECT aqua widgets force me to stick with it.
If Firefox could render aqua widgets properly, I'd come back. (And no, Firefoxy just won't do.)

Up untill recently I've been using safari, but for some reason I switched to Firefox, and I probably prefer firefox. But both browsers are in a different league to IE.
