Back when I used *cou-outlook express-gh* I had a program that would bounce back spam.

Thunderbird catches the "junk" but that doesn't give me the opportunity to try to get my email address off the spammers list by bouncing back.

Does anyone know of an extension for Thunderbird 1.5 that will accomplish what I am looking for?

Is anyone familiar with Mailwasher that claims to be able to do this?

The problem with bouncing e-mail back to the sender is that spammers often spoof the from address. So chances are you will end up bouncing messages either to nowhere or to the box of someone who didn't know their address was used.

That's a really good point, and i agree with you, but I think having an extension like this, even if it didn't do anything, would still at least make us feel better about being spammed. Maybe like we're doing something (www.thescambaiter.com).

It wouldn't be fair to spam back someone who didn't send it to you.

I think I'll send that scambaiter link to a few co-workers.
