It's time for me to build a new PC and one thing I want for sure in it is a small lcd screen that I either mount in the case or build something to hold it next to my other screen. Most smaller lcd screens run at least 200$. While not a huge problem, I discovered that PSP & Ipod replacement screens run about 30-40$. I've seen the mod for the PSone screen. (http://www.gearlive.com/index.php/news/article/how_to_psone_lcd_your_computer_05110831/) Is there any way to make this happen?

PSOne screen!
Ok, so I replied before I read the entire message... The PSOne screen thing is fairly easy though, and if you don't mind using composite to connect it, even easier. You could have the LCD external in a case of some description (maybe with a built in USB hub or something?) and just hook it up to a cheapo PCI graphics card with TV out. If you wanted it inside, at least you already have power to work with and it could end up looking neater in the front of the case depending on how good you are at hacking up plastic.

The only problem with using composite is that I'm going to lose a lot of detail and at that small of size I'm going to need as much detail as I can extract from the screen.

Then you might wanna check out the VGA hack (one version here: http://starfox.ucc.asn.au/carcomp/serio_lcd.htm)

How about something like that but making a version that you could plug into any vga port, as a portable mini screen and then you could do add ons like a sd reader etc
