did anyone see tonight's episode? such a great episode.
(spoiler)
my favorite part was the cop saying to Foreman the one thing he has learned being a cop is "Everybody lies"
p.s. how many coma patients are there supposed to be this season anyway?

I missed the beginning, though I caught that line. Liked House's story about why he's in medicine too, although kinda cheesy. Don't know what I was expecting though, so I couldn't complain anyway. I'd make a witty remark about the amount of comas, but I haven't been watching the show too closely so I don't want to make an fool of myself :D
General question: what do you want to happen to House due to this whole drug charges fiasco? Should he get out of it somehow, or does it need bite him in the ass a little? Personally, I want him to get back at the cop somehow, but that's just me.

Although the cop's being a bit overzealous, i think i want to see House get caught. I think it'd be a big let down if he gets away with everything as usual. And I like the writing in that show and I'm sure they'd come up with something cool to further the storyline.
*sorry to hijack this thread a bit, but has anyone seen 3 Lbs on CBS? I hope it's not gonna be a complete rip-off of House. (i'm new so if this has been discussed before, i apologize...)

I think he'll get off. A Doc with a drug conviction is going to cause him to lose his license ... and House Painter, or House Barrista just isn't going to be the same.
BTW - 3lbs looks like a House rip off from the shorts. I *am* looking forward to Day Break ... a 24 rip off, but one with an interesting premise.

I don't think anything will happen to House from the laws side but I am loving the cop. He's as good of a cop as House is a doctor and their personalities are so freaking similar.
Do you guys think his story of why he became a doctor is the truth? The words he wants his dad to say I can see being true, so maybe the story is too.
And I watched 3 lbs I think it's similar to House but I think it will be more on the surgeons than on the mystery, even though the best is watching how far House will go.

Wow! Another in a long line of great episodes. I was so ready for Chase to turn on House (again), and then Wilson turns on him instead.

Day Break looks like Ground Hog Day, and 3lbs just looks like sausage.

I liked it. Ecspecially when Cuddy said that House has an inner sensor because if he wants to be mean he knows where to push. I did kind of see Wilson as the one to turn on House but I don't think Wilson's doing it to save his ass, he's doing it to help House. Him and Cuddy have been trying on their own so he thinks turning him in may help. He'll probably have conditions on his testimony.
I'll need 30 pieces of silver .......................... and a sausage.

The "Next Weeks Episode" preview kinda gave it away a little.
Ultimately, this might end well for House, but what about Tritter (the detective)? Police harassment?? He is investigating House, going through confidential hospital records - while he is on a weeks vacation. HIPAA compliance broken at every step ...

Forgive me House, M.D. fans, but I think this is the worst show I have ever seen. When I saw this thread I jumped at the chance to read it, hoping that I could figure out why so many people love it. Alas, I am still confused, can someone please tell me why people like this show!!!

Because House is an ass, and he is very entertaining to watch. Sorry if this doesn't help but I suck at explaining shows or movies. I enjoy it because House makes me laugh, and so do the rest of the doctors. I don't think there's any secret that I can tell you that will make you love the show. If you don't like it then you don't.

something about House's character just appeals to people the same way Al Bundy and Archie Bunker did
and people love procedural-drama-mystery-type shows... just look at the success of CSI

Alas, I am still confused, can someone please tell me why people like this show!!!I love House for one thing - Hugh Laurie. He has always been a great deadpan comedian, and his character here is basically humourless. Most Americans only know him from his role as Mr Little in the Stuart Little movies, but going back a little further to his days on the BBC and you get "A Bit of Fry and Laurie" (with Stephen Fry), and his roles in the Blackadder series with Rowan Atkinson.

Ya definetly hit rock bottom. The whole show I was thinking he'll have a realization and go into rehab and the next ep after the break would be him getting out. Didn't see him going to trial but it will definetly be more interesting.

I hate the cop character. I cant stand him. Not because hes an ass, but the sub-plot he brought on and how the actor portrays him. It seems to be a lame way of making a good 30 second promo for fox. At the end of this episode hes still addicted/free/pissed/and everyone else is still on the same side they were on 2 episodes ago. I gotta say that the only negatives to the show are Cameron, my god she cannot deliver a line without looking like shes simply reciting from memory and not thinking about whats coming out and the cop. Everyone else seems to be progressing (story wise) and really evolving as characters except those two. I wonder if they were cast wrong.

I like the Cop character. He's the only person I've seen where you know he's affected by House's psychoanalytical bullshit, but doesnt show it. Instead, he abuses his power to screw him over. My only problem with him is that I think they've taken his character WAY too far. seriously, he's gonna ruin House's life just cuz he's an asshole?

One problem the cop brings with him is the sense of realism. What the hell is realism doing in House? Serously this guy has, by sheer circumstance, unheard of, unbelievable, and impossible cases fall in his lap all the time. I mean lets face it, House was never a realistic show. None of the characters played by the rules, or even by anything plausible, now the cop comes in for a reality check? Interesting I guess, but in the end hes been too integrated into the show now. So were left with 90% fantastical and a ten percent wing of the story/show that is directly opposed to the other wing. This would have been cool as a short term test to the format, but as a long term event its just muddying up a format that really doesnt have room for it.

I'm pretty sure House is still more realistic than Heroes, or some such. Seriously, all TV is at LEAST 90% fake in it's portrayal of the way people act and talk.

Im not talking about those shows (heroes is ya...lol), but within the context of this show its a contrast that doesnt fuse well. The more they try to the more they create 2 shows within it, theyll have house md and house and the stupid cop. Im not sure the show can remain as interesting dividing its time between the two for so long.

Calm down. It's only 3 weeks away. It's not like Lost which stopped November 8th and won't be back till February 7th. I hate those guys so much...

I don't watch Lost so I wouldn't know about that. :p
Three weeks won't be so bad. I'm sure I can find some other stuff to keep me busy.

In the spirit of bringing back the glory days of this forum.
Who watched the latest ep of House and what did you think of it. I loved it, the ending had me laughing my ass off because I'm always worried when they say they're going to change House, no vicodin, fix his limp. I know they say he acted the same before the pain but I love the whole package and like him as he is, faults and all.
And this 3 weeks shit is bullshit.

I know. It really made me mad when American Idol and baseball took precedence over House.

And this 3 weeks shit is bullshit.Yeah - it was a great episode, but I am with you. Why bring it back for one week, then have the next episode in 3 weeks time? Why not just make us wait another month? FOX suck with their scheduling ... bet they don't screw with 24 once it gets rolling.

I'm pretty sure they start it and it just rolls and never gets interupted.
Every year I'm like this year I'm gonna get in on 24 and watch it and I never do. I kinda watched the first season but after that I've just never sat and watched it. But since I have a PVR this year may be the year I get it done.

so we got this new show for you called Firefly... what do you mean we can't air the pilot as the first episode?
