Made a TRS iPhone Theme

Hey everyone,

I've been working on this theme for a couple days. I didn't plan on posting it yet because I'm still working on it, but the computer I've been using went down last night. I tried making some of the icons go with the show, but some may not like them, so I'll try and post something that is more similar with the application. For example, I put the teacup for the clock (tea time) from Dan's fun time trying to drink tea. The settings icon is supposed to be a Heely although that may be hard to see. Right nowI'm trying to figure out how to put this up on Installer, but in the meantime you can download the file and extract it to your SummerBoard directory using WinSCP /private/var/mobile/Library/SummerBoard/Themes

The stuff sitting on the dock (comics, movie, xbox) may look funny in the screenshot, but it has been fixed in the theme. Please give any comments or suggestions. Also, If anyone knows how to host a file on Installer, please let me know. I've got the basic XML written but it always says package download failed or main script execution failed.

First off...amazing!

If I had to make a critique about it it would be to remove Dan, Alex and Jeff from the theme. It kind of dates the theme a bit and they cover up the logo.

Ahh! I wasn't aware of a Diggnation theme. If I didn't know better.. I'd say you work for Apple and are trying to sell me an iPhone!

Awesome! Really glad you like them. I will update the first theme to include the exploding fists. Originally it used that icon, but I removed it because I wasn't sure anyone could tell what the fists were.

Do you happen to have a higher quality version of the comic book picture I used in the blue theme. I wanted to make that picture slightly larger in the theme but only had a screenshot from the front page to use.

Yep, the phone has to be hacked. Assuming you have firmware 1.1.4 follow this guide. http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56883&highlight=winpwn+guide

It's really very easy and does not take very long to do (~15 minutes).

Have you had any issues with it since then? I usually have no problems with things like this except it's a $400 iPhone and I can't really afford a new one if it breaks. I guess since I'm having this many doubts I may not do it, rather not then screw it up. I hope they put themes in the development kits and stuff.

I haven't had any trouble at all. If you want something even more simple, you can try following this guide http://modmyifone.com/wiki/index.php/Unlock_Activate_Jailbreak_113_iPhone. It uses a program called ziphone, and as long as your phone or computer don't turn off during the "hacking" process, you can always restore the original firmware with iTunes.

Alex, just wanted to say thanks for showing my theme on Diggnation this week. It was very cool to see it up there :)

If you're just wanting to know if it will work on an Ipod Touch, it will. They both run the same software. As long as you have summerboard installed, you should have no problem installing the theme.

Unfortunately, the theme won't work with the new firmware. I can try and look into updating within the next week it if you're that interested in it.

this is awfully bittersweet. i just got an iphone 3G today and saw this thread and the awesome screenshots and got really excited just to have my dreams crushed by firmware

Well, apparently I don't know what I'm talking about. I manually installed the themes to my 3g and they work fine :) I'll try and figure out how to make a Cydia source for automatic installation.

Kudos on the themes. I can see them being one of the things that would get me to buy an iphone for sure. Now I just need to make sense of the plans AT&T provides and then I can make my decision.

The theme with the picture of the guys is now on the modmyi.com source. This source is included with Cydia when you jailbreak your phone, so you don't have to add anything. All you need to do is open Cydia, go to SEARCH, and type TOTALLY RAD SHOW.

*You must have Winterboard installed to use the theme*
