It is all right there. Open Beta in the spring. New commercials for Halo 3 in december, made with CG not in game footage. New Multiplayer maps for Halo 2. And I am predicting another bigger announcement on Nov 22 for the 1 year Xbox 360 launch celebration. Hopefully some more Halo Wars and Halo movie info.

I waited in line at night of Halo 2 and was playing an hour after I got it. Halo changed the way we looked at videogames. the AI in the games like nothing I had seen before. Let's hope they can keep that string of good games with Halo three. I'll be there.

I want a Doom 4!

Their big 5th anniversary is a demo?

I'm underwhelmed.

Not exactly a demo. Still it's huge news for the Halo community because there has never been a (free) public chance to play a new Halo game before its release. This is a benefit to gamers and to Bungie.

It's a ****ing demo. Don't care what they call it. And it's not huge at all. It's what 50% of all game companies do today.

There is a difference between a demo and a beta. A demo is a small piece of a finished game meant for promotional purposes. A beta is part or all of a game in a late stage of the development process given to a large number of people for extensive testing.

And, yes, many developers do produce demos/public betas before the release of their game but not Bungie. That's why this is big news.

The biggest games typically don't get demos (Gears of War, Fable, Halo 2) so getting to play the multiplayer of the game months before it comes out is pretty damn sweet. What other news could they have released that would have been better?

Okay. So out of the three games they've made, they've never done this before.
Not that big a deal.

Have they given games away for free before, with bananas? Banana games? NO! That would be big news! Because they haven't done that before! And there's bananas involved!
