Looking to buy a futon kinda thing. Real cheap but as good as i can get. Im looking at Ikea site right now, but they are so cheap $$ im afraid of them lol. I had a futon from walmart a while back and the cushion ended up flattening out and getting uncomfortable and the metal bars bent from sitting on it and it just fell apart literally. Now for a $200 piece of funiture i can accept that, but i just figured some people here might have a good suggestion before i dive in by myself.

Wow that site is far from inexpensive.
Stuff looks nice but over 100 bucks for a sofa pillow and over 250 for a desklamp...Wow

I know, im trying to save money, i need to make huge changes in my life SO bad im afraid spend any money on anything. Im trying to find something cheap cause i sit on the floor right now :(
Anything more then 300 or so just seems so much money to me right now. I can afford it, but i would rather see my bank account go up cause that tells me im closer to my goal and thats more important then furniture.
Ahh, why cant i just be rich already and be done with all this. ;)

The term "inexpensive" is relative to each person.
I remember taking orders for dinner at work one day, we had a late day and were getting good take out. We all thought $12-$15 for dinner was not bad however one intern who had a different budget thought differently. Man I miss that place and it's linguine with clam sauce.

style is not a matter of $ but $ can be helpful ;)
when we are rich we will have a whole new set of problems as a result of being rich

Do you have a room and board outlet center near you? They have really nice furniture at really really low prices.

Looking to buy a futon kinda thing.Don't get a futon. They are uncomfortable as a couch, and uncomfortable as a bed.
I am lucky since most of the US furniture is made less than 100 miles away, but most large cities have a furniture warehouse type strip of stores.
A more limited option is seeing if there is a Sears Outlet nearby. Stuff that gets bought, and then returned to the store can be picked up for a bargain (because it can't be sold as new). This is especially good for electricals (we purchased a stove - it had a ding in the side panel that would never be seen, a fridge - it was too large for the original purchasers space, and a dishwasher - unknown reason ... but it was the best dishwasher we ever owned), but they had a selection of furniture as well. The outlet stores are located in selected areas of the country (we used to go the OC one in SoCal).
Quick lookup - this is possibly a bit of a drive, but closest to you.
ST PETERSBURG SEARS OUTLET STORE, 4600 PARK ST N (727) 544-4308
Advice - don't buy cheap. You will be stuck with it for a long time, so make sure its built to last. You are better off going without something for a little lonjger and getting a better quality version than replacing every couple of years. I still have the sofabed and loveseat I bought back in 93. They were bought from an Ikea type place (Oz Designs), and are now both slip covered but still real comfortable. Not in daily use any more (sofabed sits in my office, loveseat sits in the hearth room), but not thrown out either.

Wow that is actually really nice. Im gonna have to think about that one cause with the shipping its a bit more then i wanted to spend, but it also looks like its quality too. Says its steel and the cheap stuff is aluminum. Thnx skyz, you might have found me a couch lol.
Oh and concerning the money. Im ready for the problems of being rich, well not rich but comfortable. Oh poor me and my small and modest second home in costa rica on the beach..

and my modest american house on/near the beach. Such a rough life it will be surfing and unwinding the complications of 33 years of life will be...

See I dont want money to get power and all the noise that brings mankind to the edge. I just want to live peaceful and have manageable stress in my life. Maybe its too much to ask, but a guy can dream cant he?
Thnx again for finding the couch.

The floor is kinda hard and ill be so happy to have something :)I bought the couch /w sofabed before buying a "real bed", since it gave me somewhere to sleep as well as sit. I was then able to save the cash for a decent mattress and base (which is also still in use - well, in our guest room anyway - for when I get kicked out of bed for snoring too loudly  ).

Hasn't IKEA taken over America?
I mean, they have cheap yet "built to last" kind of furniture.

Try your local Freecycle (freecycle.org, I believe), or CraigsList. There's a free section on CraigsList that sometimes has hella nice stuff. I got a fantastic desk for free last week and am thrilled.
Unless you spend a lot, futon mattresses will get uncomfy to sleep on, but a camping air mattress thrown on top helps alleviate that. We're taking Nick's futon off his hands, though I think the mattress needs replacing. We'll look on CraigsList for a free or cheap one, pop it in the office, and throw the air mattress on it if anyone needs to sleep on it.

Futons are terrible!
I made the mistake in getting one back in 1998 and it was not comfy to sit in or lay in and worse I made the mistake in getting rid of my bed,and it didn't take long for the mattress to wear thin and also a bar broke and warped into my back so when I woke up besides being groggy from tossing from the mattress being uncomfortable but a sore back as well.
I will never get a futon ever again and highly recommend against getting one.

Sears outlet is a good place to shop. And IKEA makes decent inexpensive furniture. Also Costco has some good inexpensive furniture, so if you are a member or know someone who is that could be a good option too.
