Gears Of War 2
Viva Pinata 2
Fable 2
Ninja Gaiden 2
Too Human
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Seems like a pretty solid line-up of exclusives for the second half of 2008. Definitely something for everyone in there. What do the rest of you think and how does this stack up for you against the PS3s exclusives for 2008?

Nooo! Not more system wars!

The only ones in that list that interest me are Fable 2 and Gears of War 2 (only because I've played darkSector and they're similar, according to Jeff). The others, meh.

PS3 exclusives for 2008:

SingStar
echochrome
WipEout HD
Haze
Metal Gear Solid 4
Resistance 2
LittleBigPlanet
SOCOM: Confrontation
MotorStorm: Pacific Rift
The Agency

There are many other games I'm interested in that don't have release dates yet, but those ones are scheduled for 2008 according to IGN.

I'm kind of excited about Fable 2, I had a lot of fun with F1. But now comparing it to Oblivion... they're going to have to do a helluva job.

Gears Of War 2
Viva Pinata 2
Fable 2
Ninja Gaiden 2
Too Human
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
With the possible exception of "Viva Pinata 2" these are all likely to be shitty games, a majority of them like the games that preceded them in their respective series.

More of the same... "Little Big Planet" could potentially be fun, but until it's actually realized I'm not going to get excited. The MGS series should've ended at 2, "Wipeout" should've stopped at the first game for the PSX and "Resistance" seems like the typical game that has to keep the siege going until all the good games get there. The rest of them are just non-factors.

It looks like a pretty solid list for both consoles. Good times ahead!

Gears 2 will rock my world as can't get enough of that chainsaw goodness, more of the same is all that I ask.

Fable was one of my favourite games from the original xbox and was a real gem. The sequel promises a far more expansive world and a greater realisation of the visions for the original (plant an acorn and see it as an oak)

Ninja gaiden looks beautiful and brutal at the same time. I'm looking forwards to the challenge that this will bring (it like the original, is likely to kick my ass from start to finish)

I keep fluctuating with how I feel about Too Human. Sometimes i love what I see, other times I'm not convinced.

Also Little big planet looks far too fun to be legal!

Oh and also the downloadable content for GTA4 is on the way.

Now the real problem will be finding time to play all of these and maintain some resemblance of a life. If only there was an elegant solution to this...hmm where did i place that flux capacitor?

Fable 2 and Alan Wake are the only exclusives I'm looking forward to the most on the 360. Still need to play the first GeoW before I get excited about the second one.

PS3's definitely got the big exclusive this year with MGS4. I'm a huge MGS fan and that's game is shaping up to be great. I'm just afraid that the game is going to be more hype than anything else (of course that's bound to happen anyways).

@Ryudo: Seems LA Noire is delayed till '09. :(

Funny think i would be upset but two reasons why I am not...first I am still saving up money to buy a PS3 and reason number two being also a fan of a few nintendo franchises I have become used to long delays haha.

Dude get on that ASAP! Although the amount of testosterone in that game should come with a health warning: "Warning- may cause females within a 15m radius of the game to spontaneously become pregnant!"

i want a xbox for gears2. I have to admit its a FPS done right on a console. I HATE console FPS and i loved that game.

Fable 2 would be fun too, but i didnt finish Fable 1 and as much as in my head it sounds cool, i know if i have it i wont play it much. I think so anyway.

On the PS3 side, which i DO have, im pretty stoked for LBP. The online potential looks like so much fun, but it could suck if people are stupid. Lucky for us PSN users we have less morons ;)

Im interested in the agency. I played a lot of MMO's in the day and this looks interesting. Though its FPS nature im sure is gonna make me wanna play it on the PC. But if its like gears or something, i might get into it, i dont know. I just know that if im on my little PS3 controller fighting off keyboard and mouse users, im gonna get sick of getting owned real fast cause im worlds better on a KB and mouse setup. Maybe i can use a KB and M on the PS3 though ala UT.

Wipeout im excited for, i love fast racing games. Everything else ... meh.

If i see the guys review something and make it sound like they made GTA4 sound and everyone is twittering about it and all that i might get something, other then that its nice to know i wont be hurting in the wallet too much this year, but just enough to make me content.

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA — MAY 13 — Atlus U.S.A., Inc., hailed as publisher of the month by "Hulking War-Machine Weekly," today announced Zoids Assault, a gritty militaristic strategy RPG featuring enormous beasts of steel, exclusively for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Zoids Assault further demonstrates Atlus' commitment to Xbox 360® system and the strategy RPG genre, joining Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3 in a stacked 2008 lineup.
Manage a team of elite war machines through a campaign of intense military conflicts. Advanced upgrade and customization options combine with challenging objective-based gameplay to offer a fresh new strategy RPG and a daring new vision of the long-running Zoids universe. Commanders, start your engines (of war)!

Zoids Assault is currently scheduled for release on August 26.

About Zoids Assault:
When war broke out between the world's two main superpowers, the Guylos Empire and the Republic of Helic, the effects rippled across the globe, dragging other nations into the fight. Two such nations were Maroll and Jamil.

During the war, Maroll's attacks on the neighboring Jamil were devastating, and even a decade after the war had ended, Jamil's economy and infrastructure hadn't fully recovered. Animosity, paranoia, and mutual mistrust between the two nations hindered their ability to find a common ground and complete their peace talks. For ten long years, the two nations found themselves in the middle of a cold war.

After a mysterious explosion at one of Maroll's military bases, two covert ops teams are sent into Jamil territory, their exact mission details never disclosed. Somehow, the events of the present are inextricably linked to the past—to the final days of the war, ten years ago...

Key Features:
• Command a Zoid army - Take control of a fleet of giant biomechanical life forms that blend the assets of beast and machine to create fierce weapons of war.
• Advanced military tactics - Facing armies that far outnumber you means optimizing your tactical advantages. Mastering the concentrated fire tactic, managing the scan gauge and support tactics, and utilizing the Electromagnetic Pulse System will be crucial to your survival.
• First-class customization - Take your units to the next level with upgrades, including melee weapons, rockets, rifles, machine guns, shotguns, cannons, and more

Zoids Assault has been rated "T" for Teen with Fantasy Violence and Mild Language by the ESRB.

Another one for the 360 exclusive list.

WipEout HD

Metal Gear Solid 4
Resistance 2
LittleBigPlanet

MotorStorm: Pacific Rift

I'm excited for Resistance 2... Not because I want to play it, but mostly because I need Insomniac to get started on Ratchet and Clank Future: 2.... Otherwise known as... Like the 8th game in the series. I love every single one of those...

I just totally derailed this X-box topic... But Oh Well...

PS: I'm also REALLY excited for Civilization: Revolution. It looks Amazing...

Maybe that has something to do with the fact that Gears of War is not a First Person Shooter. :p

You'd be surprised at how many people don't know that.. Even people I talk to in person on a daily basis still don't know the difference.

I only own a 360 and a Wii. However, the only exclusive game I want is God of War 3 and maybe MGS4. Ghostbusters is my must buy of the year.

Gears Of War 2
Viva Pinata 2
Fable 2
Ninja Gaiden 2
Too Human
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Gears Of War 2: After watching the gameplay trailer and seeing the "Meat Shield" in action in GoW2, I literally uttered "Oh shit" and sat up in my seat. So I'm looking forward to that one.
Viva Pinata 2: I enjoyed Viva Pinata so I'll probably get the 2nd one since they are adding a story feature to it this time.
Fable 2: I didn't enjoy the first one that much so I can pass.
Ninja Gaiden 2: I really enjoyed the first one, but I'm not completely sold yet on the second.
Too Human: Demo first game for me.
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts: I want a really good platformer for my 360 and I am hoping this is it.

Gears of War 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2 are no-brainers for me. It would take a lot of negative press for me to pass those up. Too Human seems pretty definite as well. Banjo-Kazooie could go either way. Although I'm interested in Fable 2, it's the type of game that will probably get lost in the shuffle with all the other great games coming out.

On PS3 I'm dying to get MGS4, and I'll be buying Wipeout HD the day it comes out. Resistance 2 is one I'll probably pick up, and Little Big Planet has so much hype that I'll end up buying it even though I'm not excited about it.

Oh my gosh, too many great games coming out for both consoles.

From those likes i'm looking forward to:

360:
Gears Of War 2
Viva Pinata 2
Fable 2

and possibly Banjo and Ninja Gaiden. Also I know theres more exclusives than those listed.

PS3:
Haze
Metal Gear Solid 4
LittleBigPlanet
SOCOM: Confrontation

I have to say I played Resistance and was not all that impressed with it, so number 2 is not very exciting. However I am SUPER excited for Socom, especially with the promise of it going back to the feel of 1 and 2.

I'm really looking forward to Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise.

I'll probably also end up checking out Ninja Gaiden 2 and Banjoo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts
