Dr Dre Headphones

Hey Im wonder what you all think about the new headphones by Dr Dre- Beats. Are you excited about it, think they are over rated, or don't care either way.

I have good headphones for my ipod (they were cheap but they're quality) and good headset for gaming. Plus I wouldn't trust anything from Dr. Dre (or any rapper for that matter). If you think rap is good you obvisiouly don't know what something sounding good is like.

And for $400 MSRP I'm sure you can find alot better from more well-known audio mfg.

I saw it on the Crave blog, looked it up a bit more and there are no real details on the phones. The press release is a load of marketing junk and it is manufactured by Monster Cable...

... need we say more.

Dunno. I'm sure it's OK, but who knows - my guess is that for that much and bearing in mind its pedigree, you'll probably be better off with a pair of Shure SE530's for similar change, or a pair of Sennheiser HD25-1's (and $200 to spend on the music of your choice).
