so I bought a 360 yesterday...i was on the fence about it but Microcenter was having a $100 rebate off both systems (premium & core), so i got the premium for $299 (or will when the rebate comes in); i picked up Dead Rising..cool game but the font is so small and bad on my regular tv (SDTV,not HD :-( ) that its tough to read, so maybe i'll be getting a HDTV sooner than i thought

i was just wondering who else had the console and what your gamertag was?

also, some suggestions on what games i should buy and what content on xbox live i should get (i remember dannyt talking about geometry wars?)

also, what are Jlo & dannyt's gamertags?

I hear good stuff about gears of wars, but me and my buddies have been playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance and I don't want to touch it till I finish that, I'm a one game at a time kinda guy.

As far as XBLA, there's a lot of stuff on there, just thumb through it and see what you like. Personally, my two favorite games I've downloaded off there has been Geometry wars and Lumines. Most the other stuff on there are popcap games that have been ported over or old "retro" games ported over like Street Fight, Mortal Kombat, or going farther back dig dug.

And I'm ToastMstrGenerl on there by the way, didn't have enough room for the last a at the end.

Get Gears of War. Stop whatever you are doing and go out and buy it RIGHT NOW. It's by far the best 360 game and has great co-op and multiplayer modes to play with your geekdrome buddies.

I was also dissapointed that I couldn't add DannyT to my friends list, I was going to declare a Jihad on Danny at the Picnic this Sat.

my gamertag is NoAnimalFlesh, but i am rarely on since the 360 was left with my bro when i went to college. i am going to pick it up during Christmas and take it over to my girlfriend's apartment so i can play some Gears of War, though.

as far as games go: if you like RPGs definitely get Oblivion. get Zuma off Arcade because it is pure awesomeness. get Burnout Revenge because it is a Burnout game! DOA4 is nice, but if you don't play it a LOT you will get pwned online.

Gears of War is a lot of fun online, and Geometry Wars is easily the best Arcade game, especially for high score battling with friends. I don't have a 360 yet, but my GT is dek.

Yeah, I've heard the same quite a bit. I played the demo and didn't see what the big deal was...it was just Uno. I guess it's great for those that don't have a family of their own to play real live Uno with.

As for a buying guide...get gears, ultimate alliance, and if ur down with the boxing fight night is a great game. The best arcade title is lumines live in my opinion but really just for single player, the multiplayer ish is ehhh at best.

"VISION 1080" not sure how much i'll be playing I just got a wii and the PS3.
I have just about every xbox game so if its not on my list of games there a good chance I still have it if your looking to play. I have about half my games sitting on a shelf never opened. I do not like to jump from game to game so if one takes to long anther game may just get left unopened.
