Hello all, I just wanted to post to see if anyone else is having download speed issues? I think I have a few ideas, but I wanted to see what other users thought.
I have a 8Mbit/sec plan from Comcast, so when downloading I can get a max speed of 1.089MBytes/sec, but when downloading from Rev3 I get about 460-520KBytes/sec. I use a download accelerator called Internet Download Manager which opens 4 streams at once to maximize my connection. When downloading with the internet explorer or firefox downloads I get about 320-360KBytes/sec. So, based on this here are some of my ideas as far as reasons go.
1) Bitgravity doesn't have enough bandwidth or I am trying to download while too many other users are as well.
I seem to get slow speeds durring the day, or for about 4 hours after the show was released. Durring the night I get perfect download speed.
The only thing that leads me to believe that its not my connection is I can max out my connection when I am having the slow speeds from Rev3.
2) Comcast is shaping my connection to bitgravity.
Comcast has been known to do worse, but I can't prove this. If they were shaping my connection, then wouldn't all http downloads be affected?
3) there is a problem somewhere between my connection and bitgravity.
For this reason I added a trace route to the servers:
Tracing route to bitcast-a.bitgravity.com [208.67.237.237]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

I ran a speed test to a server here in Denver durring the time it was slow, here are the results:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/271502043.png (http://www.speedtest.net)
This was done at 6:36 PM local time, so I don't think the cable node is over loaded.
I have attempted to connect my computer directly to the cable modem and I get the same speeds. I have restarted everything, but it makes no difference. What do you all think? Thanks for your time :D
BTW, this has been going on for about 2 weeks now.
