Placing a lit match inside your mouth, you do a very convincing impression of a grinning jack-o-lantern...all without burning yourself.

Watch or download the episode here. (http://revision3.com/scamschool/jacko/)

Could do it this way Challenge them to see who can keep it in their mouth the longest and stand the pain the most..of course you don't tell them about the inhaling part of it tell them not to breath in or out or the match might go out.

Hey guys,

It's great to see that you keep putting out solid content each week. Wicked job so far and I'm looking forward to future episodes.

I have yet to give all of these a shot but the ones I've tried have worked well. I think my fave so far is the Human Chimney.

Once again, thanks!

Cheers

This is why I love the internet so much. Tell people to try this on TV and all you get would be angry parents writing in.

Just waiting for work to get over to go practice.

Oh and also is there a preference in what type of matches to use? Saw you were using a standard bar matchbook.

It's really not that painful if you follow Brians directions.... But it did take me about 80oz of beer and 2 glasses of scotch before I got the courage to do this, and I still screwed it up.

Also, maybe try a wooden match, not one that I used out of a match book.

Any advice Brian?

that's a great start! You got the principle down on the first try.

If you want it to look more impressive, hold the match upside down a little longer after you strike it. Let the flame get pretty big, then do the exact same thing.

Also, I leave it in my mouth all the way until I can't inhale any more, then rather than lunging up to snatch it out of my mouth, I exhale quickly to blow out the flame. Then I can take as long as I like to pull the match out of my mouth.

Fantastic job though!

So i'm not really good at keeping the match lit yet but my friends all freaked out when I put fire in my mouth.
I've put several matches out on my tongue now and nothing has hurt more then a few seconds.

I'll keep practicing.

If the person has been drinking something strong couldn't putting a flame in their mouth cause a problem?

Like someone who just drank a shot of Everclear or something hah. Introducing a flame could be bad hah.

man, that looked really good, and upon further experimentation with the trick I too have burnt the hell out of the roof of my mouth.

Thanks to Brian, I'm not going give up on this trick. At least until I get my share of sick twisted booty.

I'm sure right about now, Brian is feeling a sick sense of pride for convincing a bunch of people to stick fire in their mouth. Thanks Brian!

PS: I love Brian's reaction at the end when the dude hits his tounge with the match. Hysterical. Keep the scams coming, I'd like to see more scams I can try at home.

I gotta tell ya, I'm super-impressed by all the folks posting videos... maybe because you don't need another person to practice this one. (something for me to remember).

Believe it or not, I actually pulled this off on my first try. Too bad I wasn't video taping it. I was sure I'd screw it up and burn myself. Which is probably more reason I should have been taping in the first place.

Since then I've only minorly burned myself twice. Once when my friend was trying to get a picture of it and had me do it 4 times in succession (Not a good idea) and once when I tried to add a twist to the trick by blowing the match out in my mouth, dropping it on my tongue so it sticks and sticking my tongue out (Even worse idea).

Question to all the people who've burned the roofs of their mouths and their toungues, how bad is it? Is it really painful, how long does the pain last, and did you need medical treatment?

In my experience instincts & reflexes have kept me from getting a bad burn. If you're too drunk to react, I suppose you could do some damage, but otherwise, when it starts to hurt, you're going to cough or gasp or something that ends up putting the match out anyway. That said, yeah, I have gotten kinda burned. It's kinda like when you drink something hot. The pain fades very quickly and the roof of your mouth feels funny for a day or two. It hasn't been anything terrible, or even bad enough that I'd stop doing the trick. In fact, I find I have a hankering for spicier foods the day after, maybe my taste buds are temporarily stunned.

Damn, that's a good idea. Totally unrelated, but I just watched one of the videos of MHP (still gets me every time, I think this was at Universal's Halloween event). At the end, when you take off the puppet and shake her hand, it'd be awesome if you had "blood" on your hand or something.

My first attempt worked...but...I was a little tipsy(wasted) it burned a little but not to bad. The next day however I had a huge blister on the roof of my mouth, its a good thing that the mouth heals quickly, it peeled and was back to almost normal in about a day. I was doing the trick for friends two days later with no fear, now I'm a fearless fire-eater!! FTW

This, the human Chimney, and the cigarette out on the tongue all work well as a group

and if you know other match magic (pyro penetration or sticking 2 matches together) you can have a 10-15 minute routine [or more] walking into a bar with a smoker and a box of matches

with these feats of power and strength... I'm surprised the toothpick in forehead hasn't come up

I wouldn't necessarily say it hurts, it just stings/pinches a bit. If the match head touches any part of the inside of your mouth it will go out right away, so it won't sting for long at all. Plus, sometimes you can hear it sizzle ;)

Alright i did it as well, took me about 10 matches before real succes, without any courage drink :D

However what I do is burning the other side of the match with a lighter(i have the matches but not the box ^^'), but at least i won't poison myself. You'll still be inhaling carbon wich isn't really healthy as well, but as long as it's a small amount everything's cool.
That said, my advice is to first practice with your mouth open ;)

I still have problems with the humen chimney though :/

After watching this grabbed a box of matches and started trying to get them in my mouth. I have been burnet allot I the past playing with fire so I was apprehensive and just couldn’t get the match in my mouth. finally I i just got in the frame of mind that I’m going do this went for it got the match in my mouth bit down hard, the match flicked up and burnt the top of my mouth only hurt to start with but the top of your mouth would seem to be the best place to get a burn. a couple days later tried again this time didn’t get the match fare enough in bit the end off because I had let it burn down a bit the tip has gone under my Tung right at the back were there are 2 flappy things, and sizzled for about a second I didn’t know where it had gone until about an hour after and had been trying to ice the back of my tong because that was where the pain was coming from. For about a week and a half I was gargling mouth numbing stuff because it just wouldn’t stop stinging. This happened about a week after the episode came out but one of those flappy things is still noticeably bigger than the other ha ha . Your show is madness Brian and even after reading a fair few books on cons cheats and hustles I am still seeing allot of new stuff good show .ps what is the age you can start fire breathing
