I never really expected this movie to be good.

If I have the same reaction to it as I had to The Phantom Menace I'll still be happy because I loved TPM when it came out.
However, I never thought for a moment Indy 4 would be good, because 1-3 set the bar too high.

This is based on one negative review posted to aintitcool.com. It's a little early to be giving up all hope. Know it will never be as good as Raiders, hope it can be about as good as Last Crusade.

I reserve all judgment until after I see the film myself. knowing what can happen to franchises revisited (starwars) I know that it can be bad, so I just go to watch a movie, not thinking that it will be the next best thing since sliced sex... this helps to give me no unreachable expectations of the film.

So far there have been 2 bad reviews and one OK review posted on Aintitcool. I have lowered my expectations.

I thought it was one bad review, two neutral reviews, and one good review. I didn't actually read the reviews, I try to avoid all detail. I was just told the general summery of those reviews.

I'm avoiding reviews so I can make up my own mind. I was told how horrible Speed Racer was and I kind of liked it in the end.

Anything that lowers my expectations is good, because if I have no expectations, I can't be disappointed.
It's the Denmark model of happiness:

I really want this movie to be good and it will probably take several negative reviews to sour my expectations. It will depress me if Spielberg went back to the well one more time for no good reason. I thought the new trailer looked very exciting, but the initial trailer left me with some concerns.

I am ignoring all reviews. I don't usually agree with them anyway. Go for the fun ride of it all, that's what Indy is supposed to be.

The internet is full of haters. The movie might suck-ass, but people will go to see it anyway.

I am still reserving judgment until I see it for myself... and usually I never read reviews (didn't even read this one just saw the headline by accident)...

I have a feeling I won't be seeing this movie opening night, just in case. I'll wait to see what word on the street is about it.

I am seriously considering not going. I am so sick of George and Stephen raping my childhood to pad their retirement fund. This movie is nothing more than a money grab. Today it takes nothing but a bunch of money and special effects to make a movie sell. I guarantee you that the story behind this movie is going to be gimmicky and not true to the original trilogy.
Gone are the days of caring so much about a movie that you buy a bunch of battleship games, glue the pieces to a board, paint it gray and film it from the back of a truck to create the surface of the deathstar.
I am one of the biggest fans of the original trilogy and as such may leave Indy as he should be...riding off into the sunset.
I will watch the TRS review of this and then make my decision about whether I go. At this point, it isn't looking good.
