Games: Beyond Good & Evil 2

It's OK. Rub your eyes. I did. But it's true: Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel has told French magazine JeuxVideo that work on a sequel to one of the past decade's most underappreciated titles is underway. And not just underway, but it's been underway for around a year now, with 10-12 staff toiling away on pre-production duties. Good news, yes? Well, sit back down, Mr Bernard Excitey-Pants, because there's a catch: Ubisoft have yet to green-light the project and kick it up into full production. Yes, I'm as confused and angry as you are. No, I have no idea why the hell they're stalling on this.

The original game is one I'm still dying to play due to it's critical acclaim. A sequel can hopefully only be good news.

Awesome. Haven't played much of the first one, but it's on my 'to finish' list. Really enjoyed what I played though. And great story telling too. Hopefully it's on the newer systems because I think they could really make cinematic use out of them.

Of course, it still hasn't received the go-ahead so I won't get my hopes up. :(

Apparently it's not fully approved yet by Ubisoft. They're still at the stage of "Ok, show us what you can do, and if it's good enough, then you can continue" but still, I'm super happy about this news. The original was great!
