View Full Version : Something i've been looking for for YEARS

ok, this is one that i've never been able to remember. it was quite hard to search as well.
so when i was little my mom used to take me to some of the first dollar stores out here in colorado. i've been a geek since i could remember, taking apart stuff and attempting to put them back together, electronics and computers always really interested me; anyways, at the dollar store (not sure now if it was dollar stores we went to now) but they had these toys from this TV show that i rarely ever caught (but i did see a couple episodes). the show was this cartoon about like these people that lived in the computer and their enemies were viruses and i people didn't know that they existed. i remember having a toy that looked like a pepsi can and it opened up and thats where this little ship would dock, then i had this like circuit board that folded out into a ship, then i remember all kinds of other things that were like "robots in disguise". i remember having the cola can toy and the circuit board toy, and the back of the figurine guy that flew the circuit board looked like a circuit board so that when its not a vehicle he blends in with the board.
i'm sorry for the vagueness of the description and my run-on ramblings but this is the ONLY forum that would even have a chance of helping me figure out what this was. its just been bothering me so much that i haven't figured out what the show is, i've been trying to remember what this is for years now, never thought of hitting the TRS forums for help until now.
does anyone have a clue what i'm talking about or was it some weird made up memory of my childhood? i swear, i remember having 5 or 6 different toys from the show, i think there was even like this huge set where it looked like an old Tandy but you opened it up and it was like this huge base for the good guys! it had to been really early 90's.
i'd be amazed if anyone knows what i'm talking about =P
thnx fer readin the post every1

Reboot was FLIPPING AWESOME, I love that show so much. I still have the action figures in my house somewhere. I think the bad guy was called Megabyte or something, and the girl was Dot wasn't she? I can't remember now, but I LOVED that show. XD

Your post has me intrigued. I started seaching and the only thing I could find even remotely similar is Gridman, but it's Japanese, so that's not it!
Others I found that I don't know much about but might be it if it's not ReBoot..
Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad
Freakazoid
Digimon
Code Lyoko
Saviour of the Earth
Again, I don't watch or know much about these shows.. Maybe I'm way off.

I gotta break the love train and say that I wasn't a huge fan. I couldn't get over the terrible computer animation...I much preferred my cartoons drawn by hand.

I went through your exact feelings... I searched for a while to know what an old arcade game I played when I was young was called... it turned out to be the neo-geo arcade game King of the Monsters. Heh.

So I was at an Anime Convention with special guests the power rangers. I asked people if they knew Superhuman Samurai and this is the first time I've seen someone with knowledge of its existence. Random response to your post, but just weird to see that my first day back on threads since last Thursday.
Also, Freakazoid was an awesomely rad show back in the day.

thanks for reminding me of Reboot. that is what made me geekish. That and the Mac clone I got at the same time. and to be honest, helped a total newbie get some of the basic concepts of how computers worked. ahead of it's time, actually, as far as mass popularity.
would love to check out the computer warriors one. lookin at youtube.

Reboot had a contest a while back where you had to come up with a new plot line for the show. They voted on finalists, and the finalist was going to become a comic. After the comic there was supposedly going to be a show or movie (I don't remember which). I just remember someone telling me to enter the contest, and reading a bit about it. Haven't followed it since. I'm guessing the countdown is for the comic.
