I think people that listen to country music need to be taken out back and shot.

Cypher, let people like what they like.

Country is very summer to me, so I don't listen much in the fall or winter, but I really like Garth Brooks and Shania Twain. And, though this sounds old, I really enjoy old Marty Robbins. Now that is real country.

How about the song "Sweet potato pie and I shut my mouth"...I never listen to country but I must admit that it is catchy even if it is about how great the south is.

That would be cool. But I have XM so It wouldn't matter.

Heck, I already have my own JC "channel" on my HDD, hehe.

Did you get your truck "one piece at a time, and it didn't cost you a dime?"

You'd better get that reference!

Not a huge Country fan ...

But as bands I like Hayseed Dixie (bluegrass AC/DC), The Gourds (well, their Gin & Juice cover), and The Fargone Beauties (C&W/Bluegrass style covers - Aussie band ... awesome version of Stairway To Heaven).

Costello or Presley?

Country artists I respect, though not a country fan.

Roy Orbison
Waylon Jennings
Johnny Cash
Roy Clark (nearly as good a banjo player as Ted Shawnee, my late grandpa)
Willie "cowboys are frequentyly secretly fond of each other" Nelson
Dolly Parton, (Yeah, I know, bit tits, big hair, but an awsome authentic country voice.)

And the best ever, the epitome, the apex of all Country music:
Patsy Kline. Her voice gives me cardiac arrythmia everytime I here it.

And Conway Twitty. (Just kidding, he was pop-country before Garth was a sparkle in his grandfathers eye.)

Of the new breed, the only one I've heard with any authenticity is Dwight Yoakam.
