Hey guys, I need a little help :(.
I have 4 PCs running + my laptop in my room. It tends to get a little toasty. I bought 2 fan units, but it only helps the problem and makes a new one. The fans do help bring the temperature down a little, but now if I writing something down or working on my homework...I can't due to the wind from the fans trying to blow the paper away.

Does anyone know of any cheap AC units (not the type you put in the window) that I can buy? I'm not looking to turn my room into a freezer, but I would like it a little cooler. I like the heat, but sometimes it gets unbearable. By cheap I mean something in the $100-200 range, as I don't need to keep meat fresh just lower the temperature a little.

The heat has to go someplace. Window units take hot air in the room and exchange it outside. Window units are cheap, and available on craigslist in the fall.

There are water cooled units, they take tap water, and heat it, cooling the room air, you then throw the water down a drain. This works, but has some downsides:

You need plumbing in and out
its wastes good water
the units that do this are way more expensive than window units

A small 500 BTU window unit should run you about $100. That should cool about 200 square feet adequately.

Sure you don't mean 5000 btu? :p

I got a 12000btu in my room it cools the whole house but sometimes I like to close my door and just keep my room really cold. :D

Why not buy a mini fridge and keep it open?

Wise guy. Because a frig gets hot on the outside, and cools the inside. Keep the door open, and all it does is waste electricity as it cools the inside, heats the outside, and the hot air goes inside to get cooler.

The heat has to go somewhere.

Just drink cold beer when you're in the room. ;)
It'll cool you down and you won't have to worry about fans blowing your stuff around.
